Who is that Dater you're talking about?

All i want to see today is a trade for Coburn or a signing of Hainsey.

Like I posted in the FA thread. Eklund tweeted that he's hearing we are gonna go after Douglass Murray.

Oh hey we have those!

I hope none of our Centers are actively being shopped, but that the Avs will at least pick up the phone if people throw ridic deals at us.

We already have Cory Sarich. No need for Douglas Murray. For the record its only Eklund. The guy only gets Philadelphia rumors right. And even then he's meh.

Are they still dating?

Yeah, but he does occasionally hit on Non-Flyers rumors from time-to-time...it'd be just our luck he hits on this.

If you think about it, Murray would most assuredly cost less than Hainsey or Scuderi (who we don't have a shot at anyway) and probably even Ference.

Of the Defenseman on the UFA Market, this would be my order of preference

Hainsey
Ference
Scuderi

I don't even know where to put Douglass Murray, pretty sure I don't want him on our team.

I think we just sit back and watch teams anchor themselves down with awful contracts. Seriously whoever signs Clarkson to more then $5M per deserves to be fired. In one of the worst years of free agency we've seen, we're going to see some really bad inflated contracts get signed. I just hope we don't get stuck with one of them. I wouldn't mind a Parenteau type signing for our defense though.

As I posted on twitter if it's Eklund it's safe to say we're not in play for Murray I also watch lots of Penguins games (my 2nd fav. team) and IMHO Murray is big upgrade over Zanon. Of course he doesn't have wheels, but his positioning is good and he is really strong and use his body a lot. He would make a lot of clearing in front of Varly. I think AVS will be better with than without him. He is also younger (33 yeras old) than Ference (35) or Scuderi (34).

Wouldn't be unhappy to have the Avs sit today out to be perfectly honest.

Murray looked alright with the pens.

He doesn't solve any issues for our team though.

Side note: he is a beast of a hitter in the ea NHL games! Lol.

Murray started off well with the Pens but slowed down a ton by the time their postseason ended.

Avs will probably disappoint, signing Blum and making a minor trade.

That wouldn't disappoint me. Blum makes the most sense for this particular team. He'd fit in perfect with our younger team. Plus he comes from a team that really knows how to develop dmen. He needs some work but maybe with more ice time he'd develop better.

Preds decided to not qualify him. If they know their defenders, shouldn't that be a warning sign?

I predict 1 defensemen signing, and a couple Lake Erie signings. The defensemen will be one of Hainsey, Ference, Scuderi, or Murray.

They also have a lot of guys that passed him on the depth chart, and he was due/wants a one way contract. I'd take a shot with him personally.

I'm not saying spend the world on him or give a long contract, but of all the UFAs available he make the most sense for this team due to his age. Maybe something like a 2 year 1.5M per. Worst that happens is he doesn't pan out and is a place holder for until Bigras or Seimens figure it out,

I think this is one of those situations where we may be best off NOT signing anyone. Scuderi probably remains LA or heads back to his roots, Ference will sign with more of a contending team and Hainsey will probably get offered 3-4 years. Just my thoughts on what will happen, not, of course, what actually will happen

Bar those three, no one else really interests me and Blum is more of a reclamation project rather than what we need to come in and instantly shore things up on the back end.

I predict a trade today. And I think it will be one out of left field, a guy who we haven't talked much about.
