That's actually clever and would be neat for marketing reasons.

I'd prefer he doesnt take 91...I still get kiddish sometimes and create myself in NHL games and 91's the number I wear... so no 91

He should wear 6.. its 9 upside down....and I dont think we'll be retiring Redden's jersey in this lifetime

I think he should wear #24...I don't know why, I just do.

I would also like #10. I don't get why players don't wear that number more often.

Bobby Ryan #10 gets my vote! Always been my jersey number, would snag his jersey right away

What's with the 69 taboo? Why will no one wear it? Yes, I get the reference... getting 69 is fun, why not wear the number?

69 isn't used because a) it's a high, non-traditional number, and b) hockey players usually take a favourite number at a younger age, before they'd even know what 69 meant, and perhaps c) it'd be viewed as unprofessional / a sideshow.

Michalek wore 69 with Ceske Budejovice HC in the Czech league during the lockout, maybe he would take it and Bobby Ryan can wear 9.

I wouldn't take it because of that. I like 19 personally. It looks good. If I felt the same way about 69, I wouldn't avoid because of this made up meaning. But it seems like players do.

We see 65, 68, 71, 73, 77, 79, 89, 90+s, and more... dunno it just seems like 69 is purposefully avoided.

Maybe not. 9s are usually popular though

He's wearing #11 in the second picture because it's his destiny.

I actually thought of the same thing, without reading your post.

Emergency Line, or 9-1-1 line sound sweet.

Mel Anglestad wore it in '03 and had three problems with it: one, players were chirping him mercilessly about it; two, if memory serves it was the year after Jagr left, and people were accusing him of trying to one-up him... or maybe Jagr was still there, the timeline's fuzzy in my mind. And three, TV sponsors complained about it. He was forced to change it after two games.

Andrew Desjardins also wore it a year or two ago with the Sharks, though, and I don't remember hearing about any problems for him.
