I'll have a go...

Kunny - Sid - Dups
Neal - Geno - Benny
Jussi - Sutter - Adams
Glass - Joey V - Harry Z

Letang-Scuderi
Martin-Orpik
Niskanen-Despres

MAF
Tommy V

Pretty safe lineup... not a big fan of the bottom six but I guess we have the cap to thank for that one.

Adams on the 3rd line, apparently waiving Jeffrey or D'Agostini? And a million dollars over the cap with Niskanen.

Gonna have to waive somebody...

You think both Jeffrey and Dags make the team? I doubt it.

Harry Z will be in the AHL. I'd be shocked if he isn't. Jeffrey and D'Ags are both better than him.

....why?

Jeffrey and D'agostini are signed to one way deals... Zolnierczyk is signed to a two way deal. There is absolutely no way he makes the team over either of them.

As an aside, James Neal is a right wing now and will be forever.

Harry Z I'd like to see get 5-6 mins a game... Brings energy and is not afraid to drop the mits... I think we need a guy like that in the lineup.

One of Dags or Jeffrey will likely be waived unless the brass decides to keep them upstairs.

We have a guy like that. His name is Joe Vitale, and he's actually a good hockey player.

We're not going to waste a roster spot for Harry Z run around for 5 minutes a game when we have guys like Jeffrey and D'Agostini who might actually bring some value offensively.

It's a moot point. Unless Glass is traded with Niskanen, he won't be on the NHL roster unless there are injuries.

We shall see... Just because a guy has a one-way deal doesn't necessarily mean he's a lock for the team.

But when three guys are signed in the same offseason and two were given one-way deals and one was given a two-way deal, it gives you a pretty good indication of where management expects them to play. Especially when there's such a considerable drop in talent/usefulness.

Barring any trades, the forwards are pretty much set.

Your line-up has Adams on the 3rd line while benching or waiving the two guys who could actually play on the third line. That isn't happening. And it sure isn't happening to make room for Harry Zolneralkjlkjf. If he gets a spot, he's going to take it from Glass.

That's true. Moves could happen. Most likely, imo, is just Niskanen traded for a pick to get under the cap. Ideally we would ship out Glass too and sign a better 4th liner.

Part of me what's to see Martin go... Even after his bounce back season. But I agree Nisky makes the most sense.

Moving Martin right now should be grounds for firing Shero. Our defense is already lacking in mobility and transition. He is the model we should be trying to build towards, not get rid of.

Hahaha... True... You never know what you're gonna get with that guy though. Trade his fat contract while his value is at its highest in years.

What? First year the guy was brutal. Last year in a shortened season he was solid. Hard to know what you're gonna get with him as he hasn't been the most consistent player over the years.

Paul Martin has had 1 poor season in his 9 year NHL career.

I was on the Paul Martin hate train in 11-12, too, but what we saw last year was much closer to the player he's been throughout his career.

His first year here was good. His 2nd was bad. His 3rd was great.

Aside from 1 year he has always been great. I don't have any idea what you are talking about with him being inconsistent over the years.

Aside from last year Martin has been brutal. You may think otherwise but it took him a long time to get comfortable here.

At the end of the day if we're moving a d were considering between Orpik and Niskanen. But if the offer is there, Martin could be a movable piece... Especially considering he might be able to bring something in and eliminates 5 mill in cap which until last season he hasn't deserved.

This is one of those cases where an opinion is legitimately wrong. Paul Martin has been a very good player for almost a decade now. Including his first year here. He has 1 bad season in his career. If you think otherwise you are wrong.

He deserves it now. He deserves 5M more than Orpik deserves 3.75M. Martin is 1.25M better than Brooks Orpik.

Martin is overrated has not been worth 5 mill until this season. Personally, I think Shero jumped the gun on that signing and was desperate after missing on Hamhuis. Just because my viewpoint differs from yours does not make my opinion "legitimately wrong". I'm sure there are others who take your side and some that take mine. If Martin can consistently play the way he did last year I hope he never leaves. I'll be interested to see how he does in a full season this year.
