why was he bought out in the first place? i see hes 25...failed potential? 1.4 mill is barely anything as a cap hit. injuries? inconsistency?

He hasn't been the same player since he was cheap shoted and injured his back. I still think Buffalo should have given him this year to see if he'd bounce back. If he returns to his old form he's a decent 3rd liner/ 4th liner. Great hustle, throws his body around, battles for pucks, has some pking ability, and has a bit of offensive ability. His lack of size really does hurt him though.

I felt like he was bought out simply because he wasn't in Buffalo's plans and they wanted to give him a shot elsewhere rather than let him rot on the 4th line or press box. He hasn't lived up to potential but also hasn't been given a lot of chances in the kind of role he would thrive in. I think he deserves a chance elsewhere and still has some potential.

Strickland has a pretty decent track record, and it's not like the Sharks are a canadian team where you are guaranteed millions of hits by throwing them in a post. Also, Wilson is supposedly a major tire kicker.

Gerbe hustled, his thighs are the size of my waist (at least a few years ago), and he played with moxie a good portion of the time. However, he is 5'5" at best and will still be pushed off the puck. I liked the Gerbe story...I liked the Doug Flutie story... if he is not in your top 9, he doesn't make the team. He was not in our top 9 (and this is the Sabres we are talking about). I wish him well, but this is becoming a BIG man's game.

Seems to indicate he's only getting 2-way offers. Not surprising, he's going to have to show he can play again. Him being lippy about ice time AND sucking when he got the ToI isn't going to help his cause much.

They're a little angry that the Gerbe thread is being dwarfed by short jokes.
