Same here, but our options were dwindling by the day. Any longer and Garth would have been left holding the bag. I don't think anyone wanted to go into next season with Poulin as our starter.

Happy with the term! Gives us a year to see if Poulin can progress to being a starter, better to keep for a backup, or ship him out.

I like this. Smart move by Snow. It really wasn't looking great on the market for goalies unless we wanted to bring in someone like Bryzgalov. Now just make sure there's somebody else who can reliably take his place for a few starts a month and I won't be terribly worried about the goaltending situation this year.

I don't mind it. Wonder if we can still nab Khudobin and have a battle in camp w/Poulin.

Isles wanted in on Emery but didn't get the chance he clearly wanted to go to Philly:

With Ray Emery gone before #Isles had a chance to make an offer, team felt Nabokov was best short-term option available.

Great news. I'm glad Garth was able to get him on a one year deal.

With Nilsson.

Yes, I also hope that we sign Khudobin. That would've been ever better. To use a tandem with two proved good goalies.

I think he is still a quality goalie. That pot-shot from Iggy appeared to significantly change how well Nabby played in that series.

Sure would like to see Garth bring in a guy who can be counted on in the playoffs.

Great as a backup. Now go get the starter because this has disaster written all over it if we go into next season with Poulin and Nabby as the tandem.
