They've also separated the rarer canvas YG between Series 1 and series 2. So some of the top Young Guns from Series 1 have their Canvas YG in Series 2. Generally Series 1 is always more loaded but this will probably help UD's usually sales level for Series 2.

The Fall Sports Card Expo is just over 2 weeks away now. I'm likely going, excited to go again and dig through box after box.

WTF?

I though these weren't released for another 3 weeks?

I got a galchenyuk, gallagher, and yakupov rookie card from a booth at my hockey tournament. They're all the upper deck young gun cards. Are any of them valuable

UD is handing out young guns already? Do they have any kind of promotional mark on them?

either way, they are at their most valuable right now if you were to sell them, and likely only diminish/decrease in value in the future.

The ones on eBay are pre-sales, probably the sellers who plan to open multiple cases.

Are street dates set for 13/14 cards? I can't find hockey cards anywhere right now so I am assuming they're not out yet? I do, however, live in Arizona. The demand to stock them may not be high either.

According to the above post, you didn't get the actually Young Gun cards.

I've stopped buying. I keep looking every so often on eBay, but I'm avoiding buying cards and might even sell some to help get a solid amount built up for a car.

Though, I'm hoping I get a tin, or two of UD Series 1. Unless the rookies aren't very good. Then I'll just look for money.

UD Series 1 comes out today with the double rookie class.

Anyone else getting any? I've got 4 hobby boxes on order. I'll post later tonight about what I pull. Should be decent value in there. Many of the Young guns are already going for $20-50.

I recently dug out a bunch of my old hockey cards from the late 80s and 90s. Is it worth my time to try to sell these? If so what is the best site to sell from? Also what is the best source for valuation?

Thanks for the help.

Did pretty well.

Each box came with a Overtime bonus pack. In the first pack I opened I got a limited edition Galchenyuk /10 auto redemption card.

Beyond that, did very well with the young guns, including:

Huberdeau, MacKinnon, Jones, Monahan, Galchenyuk, Shultz, Chiasson, Reilly, and Dumba

Keep the auto, sell the YGs now, before they drop to $5 a piece.

Keep the auto? It looks like it could go for $200+ right now. Personally, I think Galchenyuk is a very good player, but he isn't Crosby. I can't see an auto card of his going for more than current prices.

Right now the only Young Guns going high I have are MacKinnon ($55), Galchenyuk ($30), Monahan ($20), and Jones ($20).

The rest are all $5 cards to begin with, and I doubt MacKinnon will fall to $5.

Although the Reilly and Galchenyuk ones might be worth selling, as the Toronto/Montreal hype makes them overpriced. The issue with them is that there will always be some lingering demand, as many get snapped up very early.

Look at the 05-06 UD S2 YGs, these will be worth even less later because this class is not as good as that class and is printed even more in quantity.

On the other hand my Kessel 06-07 UD S2 auto is still worth money.

Keep or sell the auto if you wish, him being a great player on Montreal screams long term although maybe not at $200, but sell the YGs ASAP. You can buy them back for a fraction later.

I'm looking at gift ideas for my gf to get me. I was thinking a Roy rookie. However, I've seen a few with blank backs. The Roy rookie I currently have was graded by a company I don't really know. It's 7.5, but it's probably the reason I only paid 80 for it.

Is there a difference between blank backs and normal cards aside from the obvious ?

Must be Blankall.

I bought two packs of UD series 1 at Jersey City and the second pack had a MacKinnon YG! I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Not me. That guy originally had his card at over 400 and had slowly dropped.

Blank backs are error cards. Their value is random. Check ebay. Could be with more or less.

So I have bought three hobby boxes of the 2013-14 Upper Deck Series One. Great looking cards, but I have one major issue with them. All 18 of my Young Guns cards have major creases on the backs of the cards. It seems UD was more concerned about getting the product out and not on quality. I have also about two hobby boxes of US Artifacts. I pulled a sweet card. Check out the photo.

2013-11-21 21.11.26.jpg

I have never pulled a 1/1 card before.

I would guess that they each would fetch between $30 - $60 range. The Jan or Feb issue of Beckett should have them listed by then. I'm pretty sure MacKinnon will be the most expensive YG this year. Probably will break the $100 mark.

There's a site called Check Out My Collectables. They seem to be pretty good. As for pricing your cards, buy a Beckett Hockey to get an idea of value. What kind of shape are your cards in?

Your 80's cards, unless you have a Roy, Yzerman or Lemieux rookie there wasn't much for value. Most other rookie cards are in the $30-$40 range. As for the 90's, many of the cards don't have a lot of value because the market was flooded with so many companies releasing cards.
