i think if chuckie isnt playing center hes better suited to play RW then LW so if the habs were to sign morrow i think gionta would be expendable

bourque plekanec briere

pacioretty desharnais gallagher

morrow eller chuckie

prust white moen/parros

that line up looks pretty good to me...

what do you guys think?

I'd take him on the roster for 1 or 2 years at a reasonable rate. Despite slowing down, u can put him on basically any of the top three lines at any given time. I don't know why people worry about where he fits.

At 5'11", he instantly makes our top 9 taller.

Oh well... Heavier, at least. And grittier.

I doubt it since the Habs lineup is full. I'd welcome a short term deal though.

Morrow is probably better now than Clarkson will be in 5 years at 34. So anything under $5,25 millions per year would be a bargain, I suppose....

Briere, Jagr, Morrow, maybe Bergevin wants to start a retirement home?

I know.

I still get pleasure from taking pot shots at Gauthier though.

But with some real character...

Morrow would be OK I guess, but like everyone says, on the cheap...no more than 2.0M

Jagr isn't even on our team and Morrow is 34, not like he's 40. I'd take him on a one year deal, he'd be nice on our third line with Galchenyuk at centre.

Habs have spoken with Morrow

Bergevin picks up the phone, dials.

Bergevin: Hey Brenden your father-in-law, Carbo, said you'd be interested in participating in the Habs annual golf tournament.

Morrow: Who is this & how the puck did you get my number?

CLICK

MB crosses out another name from his list.

Awards:
Habs would have one forward too many, but hey... on a cheap, one year deal, I would do it.

New HF mentality: 34 or older? Clearly done.

Morrow has barely anything left to give: his speed is shot, hard to be effective at his game with his legs right now. At a VERY low contract (i.e. less than 2 mill), I would be fine with him on the fourth line while occasionally moving around, but otherwise, I'd pass. I'd rather go for Jagr, who is still an excellent PP option, even if I would rather Montreal just rest on free agency completely from here on out.
