I want to like this... he was great for the Stars. Hard to play against, but old and small, and like others have said, where would he play?

I'd take him for out 3rd line. 1 year for 2.5m.

Smells like the team is planning to move some bodies otherwise there's no room for Morrow.

The plan...

And if Washington says no, there's always Edmonton that needs a 2/3C and some grit, so Moen & DD can walk anytime...

Ah gotcha, so we still have no direction one way or another for this team, just like before.

I understand this question. It`s one that alot of habs fans are asking...but if I can explain this properly..it really shouldn;t be too hard to understand....We are building through the draft....we are not giving up any draft picks or other assets to get these UFA`s. These UFA`s are not preventing our young prospects from developing. These UFA`s can make us a better hockey team right now, while our prospects develop.
These UFA`s could make other current contracted veterans such as gionta, desharnais, bourque, markov, moen, etc expendable and tradeable for more valuable assets (picks and prospects), but without creating a whole in our lineup because of the acquisition of the briere`s the morrow`s the jagr`s, the whoever`s.

Nah, this one has been following 'build through draft and add character' quite consistently while the others just made **** up on the fly. Whether you agree or not with keeping all picks and not trying to sell farm asap is up to the person.

Exactly. Not surprising though, but certainly unfortunate.

There is no doubt that the Habs would have to make room for him and I'm expecting that this could mean the end of Travis Moen and his 3 years remaining on his contract.

I'd definitely take Morrow over Jagr, not even close.

Well, he's on my list with Penner, Jagr and yes, even Latendresse. We need a big bodied guy in the top 9.

Yes, because when people say "player X is washed up," or "he is done," they are referring to the kneecap that was busted... that he was playing with. Or was it the loss of his grit and character... which he never lost.

No, it was him slowing down, scoring less and playing a different role. All factors that point towards a player reaching and passing his prime years in the NHL... in layman terms, he's getting old.

It almost seems like Bergevin thinks the Habs are a contender with the way he has approached this offseason.

I don't understand why the defense has not even been sniffed at. 80% of all the rumours that have been tied to the Habs have been to bolster the forwards.

I don't get it. The defense is pretty abysmal; especially with Emelin's health as a question mark going into the season.
