"on pace for" = hte pinnacle of Gagners oiler career

Still waiting for some numbers to back up the piggybacking comment.
Also still waiting to hear why other junior players who played with superstars weren't drafted highly due to said piggybacking.
Also waiting for Gagner to hit 50 points

Riddle me this...how many minutes did Henrique play with and without Kovalchuk? You threw out the piggybacking comment so im assuming you have some numbers to back that claiom

http://www.behindthenet.ca/nhl_time_...11+13+29+31+33

In 2011/12 Henrique played most of his minutes with Parise and Kovalchuk.

He's still only 23 years old, I think you might be forgetting that. I'm sure you understand if he plays 70+ games this year he is a lock for 50+ points with our lineup, right?

gagner has hit 49 and 47 pts, in what world do you live in that one time getting 51 pts is exponentially better than 47 and 49.

Why are we even talking about Gagner when the GM has been more then clear with what is going to happen with him. He is a Oiler and not on the trade block. I like your man crush as well but for Gagner is laughable.

facts are facts.
Henrique's rookie season > Gagners
Gagner's sophomore season >>>>>>> Henriques

You really can't compare 41pts to 16pts

I don't mind Andy Greene but priority should be finding quality bottom 6 players. Bernier is not a 3rd liner. I still think there is a market for Hemsky and his value is getting higher as the off-season moves along.

Henrique scored 27 of his 51 points that year in 27 games through October and November. He shot 18% during that run, riding shotgun with two of the games elite wingers.

Has never produced at >0.5PPG for any ten game sample since.

I offered Hemsky for Carter + 2nd in the trade proposal thread.

Carter becomes our 4th line C, gives us cap space to re-sign Gagner and pursue third line options

Thank you.

Finally some stats to back up claims around here!

Another fact: Henrique's best season > Gagner's best season.

Why can't you guys accept this?

defense?
bad at faceoffs still?
pretty mediocre acceleration and GAME IN GENERAL for skill set/size (Aka, this dude is a FINESSE PLAYER who isnt that effective... its like playing a video game where youre a glass cannon - BUT NOT that much of a cannon)

Gagner's offense is pretty opportunistic. good on him for that, but a couple bounces and some 2nd assists doesnt make this dude some mind blowing offensive player. hes a perimeter/vulture. he had a good year at that strategy. but he's going to get paid as much as Hemsky, or more, and never came close to a 70 point season. show me your doe eyes and be a cute little guy who huffs and puffs once in a while "for the team" and im sold on your super mediocre game. i'll overlook the turnovers, lack of speed / control on the boards, defensive miscues, etc, etc...

/pass

trade the dude ASAP

In OilersFan4Life's world, 2 points is a whopping chasm.

Clearly that 1 point is the important differential.

Utter nonsense.

His skating and his net game are getting much better. Since he started moving his feet in pressure, he's created way more chances for his linemates than he ever did before.

Terrible.. RNH has been suffering an injury, as soon as he is 100% healthy he will be a complete stud. Henrique will not handle RNH jock strap.

Henrique had a very good rookie season playing with two of the better wingers in the game. His season this year makes it seem unlikely he will reach those kinds of numbers again without elite linemates.

Gagner has produced more consistent results and with far less star power to work with. Even if Henrique had one better season, Gagner seems like a better bet to play in a top 6 role long term.

I will concede that Henrique's best two months are better than Gagner's. No Parise? Back to reality. Only going to get worse with Koy gone as well.
Using a small sample size to evaluate a players worth is like using Gagner's 8 point night to evaluate his.

I didn't even realize Henrique was being talked about, I was solely speaking about how Gagner hasn't reached 50 points in his career. There aren't many 23 year old's who put up 50 points already in their career, and Gagner hasn't always really had a great cast to do that with. He should be a lock this coming season though.

Yes. 51 is better than 49.

Can you realistically say that Gagner's 49 points is still 49 points if he's playing with Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise 68% of the time instead of Andrew Cogliano and Robert Nilsson?

The piggybacking comment is 100% valid and you know it.

henrique may have had a better 2 month span but gagner has a 400% better 1game pt/g average 8.0. call me when henrique can get 5 pts in a game let alone 8
