Chase came into junior playing exclusively C and by his 17 year-old season had rotated completely to the wing full-time. He's gone back to center as needed due to injuries, but is not the best faceoff man and plays the wing a LOT better.

Yeah, #59 there (Joel Chouinard, I think) didn't exactly cover himself with glory on that one, lol.

Not sure how having a cocky kid is a bad thing. If you didn't notice, the whole drafting and finding guys with good character has done nothing for us. Having a ***** here and there to disturb the other team is what we need.

Cocky is fine; I don't care.

In addition, I'm sceptical when someone cries negatively about these things. I've heard and seen too many bogus claims that I'm doubtful. I'm not speaking to the poster here, but generally.

I'll echo that the Oilers need a lot more *******s in their lineup.

They play a much too passive, marshmallow-like game.

Honestly... how often do opposing teams really go away after playing Edmonton saying they had to really work their ***** off to beat them and are nursing injuries because of playing vs the Oilers?

Oilers aren't a gritty, punishing team by any stretch and they NEED to get more players in their lineup to make teams at least pay the price when they beat the Oilers instead of walking away laughing with 2 points and not breaking a sweat (only a slight exaggeration).

We gotta start drafting the biggest ****ing dirtbags. We'll be looking for the opposite qualities in interviews than other teams.

Charlotte lost surprisingly to San Antonio tonight, and Rockford also lost keeping both those teams at 75 points just two points up on the Barons. Rochester won to jump past OKC at 74 points.

Hopefully OKC can take advantage of a tired Charlotte squad this weekend and jump into a playoff spot.

Another Chase tweet:

Eric Rodgers ‏@ericrsports · 15m
@17Mintz He looks like he's ready for the AHL level. Has some amazing puck sense from what I've seen so far.

**** Yes

Pro playoffs would be great for the development of the youngsters just added to OKC.

Neal ‏@tweetneal 17m
Jujhar Khaira gets the gold star for being a defensive beast at the center position. Swoon. #OKCBarons

Neal ‏@tweetneal 14m
@WeridAl13 at the center position, he's the most defensively poised forward on the ice. <- (regarding Khaira)

Neal ‏@tweetneal 15m
@conkanen both good tonight, still tweaking their game to fit this squad, pretty impressive given the lack of practice w/ this squad <- regarding Chase & Khaira

Just by what I gather on Twitter, sounds like Khaira had an excellent game.

@tweetneil thought he was the most defensively responsible foreword on the team.

That is great praise.

Connor Jones also had a pretty good game supposedly.

Hopefully these guys can make a big run with the influx of talent.

Can Klefbom/Marincin be sent back?

Plus Nurse could be there too

I think Klefbom can since he would have been on the clear day roster.

I don't think they did the paper transaction with Marincin to get him on it.

If Nelson gets that forward group into the playoffs with all the call-ups from the Oilers I will deem him a hockey God.

OKC having a beastly 2nd period. 3 goals and outshooting Charlotte 19-3 in the period. Horak with a goal and 2 assists.

Assuming OKC keeps it up and makes playoffs, who do you think the oilers send down for it?

edit now 4 goals and outshooting 20-3. Holmberg picked up an assist on the 4th goal.

I really hope Klefbom, Marincin (maybe), Lander, Pinziotto, Nurse (if eliminated), Yakupov (if its possible).

Plus they will get Arcobello back

Have the best of Chase, Khaira, Holmberg, Winquist subbed in.

Anyone know if Yakimov would come over for a playoff run, or is just coming over next year?

That team would be looking pretty stacked, and would have some solid depth with all the new ATO signings. Never thought about Yakupov, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing him go down for the playoffs if he's healthy. Might help him get some confidence back.

Also jesus, OKC might hit 30shots this period

Yep... OKC has used 54 different players on their team this season (so far)... that's one hell of a churn for any coach to try and run systems and get everyone on the same page for any amount of time.

I really hope the Oilers give Horak a shot next year, he is really underrated on this board IMO.
