He's certainly a "punch and get punched" type of fighter. Take one, throw one, take one, throw one, etc. This won't work in the NHL, so hopefully he puts on a few pounds and learns something from Gazdic in the coming future. However, he can already handle himself at the AHL against busts like Glennie(is that Scott Glennie?). That's something, right?
Nurse absorbed the vast majority of Glennie's punches with his helmet in that scrap. He does a reasonably good job of punching and ducking/turning/avoiding. I'd want Nurse to become a little more defensive against tougher opposition.
2 straight overtime losses at home against the top AHL team... heartbreaking.
It's a tall order for sure, especially if Dallas gets knocked out and they add some players from the NHL club. In saying that I've watched the Barons come back from deficits so many times late in games this year, they play their best hockey when their back is against the wall. Got my fingers crossed hoping for some magic.
This sounds positive. Where have his strengths been so far in your eyes?
Made a bad play with a bouncing puck and quickly skated back and checked the guys stick and took the puck back. He is also really good at protecting the puck down low. Nelson has trusted him with a lot of responsibility as well.
