Not made it with a 82 game season??? We were a healthy team with an awesome record down the stretch (before we clinched). So many things you could pick on that the Isles truely lack, and this is the stuff you bring up.

What do you think about his post Travis?

I say Devs, Rags, Isles IF they all stay healthy
Exactly, you were a healthy team. Notice most teams were not. You were bound an injury, and if Tavares goes down, your a bottom dweller.

I think all 3 make the playoffs next year.

The Rangers will make it, the Isles are trending upward so I expect that to continue, & I can't see NJD missing with Schneider. That kids a stud.

They are not even close to exactly that. One could argue that the Okposo-Nielsen-Bailey line was the whole reason the Islanders even made the playoffs. They were outstanding during the second half of the season (while the Tavares line struggled), and only continued producing in the playoffs.

The Islanders 3rd and 4th lines were also solid both physically and offensively, and will only improve with the additions of Clutterbuck and Regin.

Nelson will be a great 3rd line center. Nothing more.(not bad, but does are not that hard to find)
Donovan is nothing special at all, don't see why you listed him? Devils and Rangers have better defensive prospects then him?
Knowing your organization Strome will bust like Nino did. ( Yes he is a great prospect, Devils have a 20 year old franchise defender which is much better then a possible top 6 player)

Devils have no good prospects? That's funny, heard of Merril? Comparable to Ryan Suter, very talented player, better then any defensive prospect the Islanders have.
Reid Boucher? Broke Stammers record for goals, no sweat eh?
Need more?
Elliot Spitzer's shlong knows more about the Islanders than you do.

LOL well Kovalchuk just RETIRED, so good luck next year buddy.

And on topic: That post is just so full of homerism. Donovan nothing special but Merril compares to Suter? Yeah, sure buddy. I'd take Donovan Reinhart Pulock and even Mayfield over Merril.

Re 2. It seems you're all over the stats. Hardly need me.
Re 3. If I'm butthurt that Boyes left, then I must like being butthurt.

does are maybe 6'3" centers fine hands with uncommon.

Donovan isn't our best D prospect. He's our most ready. I would prefer him to Zidlicky, for example, at this point.

This is, in context of Brad Boyes butthurt, absolutely hysterical.

If you think Islanders fans are butthurt because of Brad Boyes, I can't even imagine how butthurt you must be right now.

And if Lundquist goes down what exactly are the rangers? And the Devils minus Kovy are what? Last year with Kovy they sucked, this year they shored up their goaltending but lost Kovy, at best its a sideways move.

Dude.... you think the Islanders are going to miss Boyes, your opinion on the Islanders is now completely irrelevant. I don't think there was a single Islander fan that would stick up for Boyes by the end of the year. He's donkey doo

Not sure why the Rangers are getting so much love in this thread. The Islanders and Rangers were essentially even last year. The Rangers lose Clowe/Gaborik while the Islanders are mostly net neutral from last year. They also aren't going to punt 5 games to DP like last year which can only help

Just to be clear, you now think that with the loss of Kovalchuk, the Devils will still finish ahead of the Islanders?

Try watching a game pal. Arguing any further is a waste of time.
