Nsh - edm

:

Gaustad
Clune/Nystrom
2014 4th round

:

Hemsky
2014 3rd round

Nashville gets a proven offensive player while Edmonton gets some bottom 6th depth.
Gaustad phenomenal faceoff man and can kill penalties. Clune or Nystrom bring great intensity and can kill penalties.

Didn't Nystrom sign with Nashville like 3 days ago?

yes but I don't see the point in having Clune and Nystrom. Pretty much exact same player

We're not trading a player we signed 3 days ago, no matter how badly some of our fanbase wants to. I just don't see Poile making this kind of trade for an upcoming UFA.

Hemsky + 5th for Gaustad + Clune would be closer to fair value, don't get me wrong would take first deal but no way NSH does.

Keep it at Clune instead of Nystrom, and this EDM fan says yes.

i'd say any of gaustad/clune/bourque/bang/spaling would be good adds for the Oilers.

Probably Oilers say no, not because of lack of value but just organizational need. Oilers have too many guys coming up that make Ryan Ellis redundant.

You can have Goose and Clune. Bourque has higher value to the team than any of the rest named.

Nope, Paajarvi>Ellis, not to mention Ryan Ellis is just a poor man's Justin Schultz and Paajarvi actually fills a need.

I'm not keen on letting Ellis go at the moment. We have a solid third pairing with him and Bartley/Ekholm, plus from the way our top six looks right now we need all the help on the PP we can get. Jones is still an unknown, too. If we're going to deal Ellis it needs to be after seeing Jones play 20-30 games minimum.

Sign me up, as sad as I would be to see Hemmer go there just isn't a place for him anymore in the lineup. Realistically, anything that improves our bottom 6 (gritty, grinding center/wingers) is something that should entertain all Oilers fans. Although I sure would love Smith from OTT, but is looking less and less realistic.

I'd love to get Ellis.

But agreed, let's stick to the original deal.
