The few games that have aired have been good. Carter and Richards are both extremely good - I just pray the NHL gets it's **** together so we can see these kids in orange and black...

What lines will the Phantoms likely play?

If I recall: Ready-Carter-Sharp, Eager-Richards-Sim, Murphy-Stafford-Meloche, Gratton-Umberger-Fedoruk,and for the Defense: Pitkanen-Meyer, Jones-Seidenberg, Slaney-Skolney. Goal Niitimaki-Little. Probably not 100% correct, but in the neighborhood.

Good article comparing goalies, but I also love the one comment (in bold). To quote a friend: Wonder Twin powers.... Activate!

http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?n...id=18170&rfi=6

Race to the Finnish for the Calder Cup

VOORHEES, N.J. -- Aside from their height and initial expectations, there’s not a lot of things different about the goalies squaring off against one another in the Calder Cup Finals. The Phantoms’ Antero Niittymaki and the Chicago Wolves’ Kari Lehtonen have experienced similar career paths to reach the point where they are right now -- four wins away from a championship.

But Niittymaki isn’t exactly chopped liver, and until the arrival of the Wonder Twins Jeff Carter and Mike Richards, he was easily the Phantoms MVP.

Strong game by Niitty. Special teams is the difference tonight. For game two, both teams have some work to do, I think.

It sounds like Philly could use some work on breakout plays. They seemed to be pinned up in their zone quite a bit. 5-on-5 went Chicago's way. The PK was solid, though, against the weak Wolves PP.

The Wolves will continue to chip away at even-strength play. If they plan on winning, they really need to stay out of the box, though, especially late in the game. That streak of calls in the third hurt their chances pretty badly.

Anyone know the status of Pitkanen? Heard he left with a left side injury during the first period.

What a pass by Jeff Carter! He isn't fair to have on our team he is too good.

Anyone still beleive Carter or Richards should play a year in the AHL rather than jump to the NHL?

and why wasn't Antero 1st star? He made 20 more saves than Lehtonen, and he only faced like 9 in the last 3 periods
