I'd say more than likely. Doesn't bring anything particularly intriguing at the NHL level. Has never really PK'd, relatively small player, and looks like he pretty much solely plays wing despite being listed as a centre on a couple sites. Has had some success scoring at the AHL level though, so likely depth for Utica.
There are things to like about Ferriero. He's been a good possession player throughout his career and was basically a third liner with San Jose for a few years. From what I remember about him, he plays a fairly tenacious game.
On the other hand, his NHL point totals look inflated by the fact that he's actually gotten a decent amount of ice time through his career - a 20 point per 82 game pace isn't much for a guy who consistently played 10-12 minutes per game at even strength. He also doesn't really add size for a team that seems to want to add size where they can. He also doesn't PK, which limits his usefulness as a fourth liner.
