Ok.. seems to me we got us some defensive depth (im looking to the future here)

Bogo.Toby
Trouba.Morissey

(then bottom pairing)

What would people want in return for Buff, because honestly i think he's not long for winnipeg. I hope we move him before we get "iginla'd"

What would people want in return?

What could we get in return?

Perhaps there has been other topics about this but i feel, the best thing to do with Buff is to move him for something while we still can.

So, how would we get Iginla'd? Buff is far from being our cornerstone franchise player. Chevy stated that he's not interested in shopping Buff. He also said that any player is available for the right price. I can just imagine what it would take for Buff to be moved (literally).

There has been a lot of discussion on this over the last few months, and I think the majority think the best thing to do is at least wait until Trouba is ready for top 4 minutes.

If at that point Mgmt looks to move Buff instead of running all 4 of Toby, Buff, Bogo, and Trouba in the top 4, I would be looking for a top 6 forward, and depending on the forward, a nice pick or prospect as well in return.

yeah your right.. we'd get less then what calgary got cuz at least jerome cares and comes to camp in shape and ready to battle day in day out

lol, not interested in shopping buff? ok

funny thing is when gm's say that, normally means they are

dont think so

see what dave nonis said about their interest in bernier a week b4 trading for him.

Fair point, I don't really trust what GMs say either. But I do agree that It's best to wait until Trouba is knocking down the door for top four mins and is NHL proven before we look at moving Buff. It might be one full season, even two before this happens.

"There's a process in place" lol

While I hate double stuff Buff, there is a market for him (although small). Strengths are his TOI and offensive skill. His contract, weight issues and laziness can't be ignored and are significant weaknesses. So I would think if we could land two decent (2/3rd rd) prospects I'd be more than happy.

Buff has a pretty fair contract for what he brings to a team. He puts up between 40-50 points and sometimes decides to be physical. If a team is looking to get one of the last pieces for a Stanley Cup he's a piece they should target.

If Buff can't be moved I don't think it'll be for his contract.

I remember the time, when oreo cookies were hard to find in Germany - it's maybe 8 years or so ago. Everyone LOVED them, when we went to foreign countries and bought them there. I think in Spain they existed already. As we were young, everyone talked about those delicious double-cookies. When they finally arrived in german supermarkets, everyone went crazy and we bought them every week for the first two months. After that, I lost any interest in them and if I see them now, going through the supermarket, the only thing that comes to my mind is that they are way to expensive

Talking to flyers fans it would be an interesting idea to move buff for Coburn+ at the deadline provided trouba has shown he can play in the top 4.
