Aha so the wings see a bit of Homer in T Bertuzzi? Make sense to draft him then.

No he wouldn't.

For that, he would have to get A LOT more hockey sense from somewhere.

I'm hoping Janmark-Nylen is the next somewhat-undesirable-prospect-turned-hockey-IQ-king along the lines of a Datsyuk, though I don't expect him to reach that level. Just in the same way that Datsyuk went from who? to being an NHLer with a lot of skill and sense for the game. I think/ hope J-N could be similar in that sense.

Looks like that hulking 6'9 defenceman Ildar Telyakov has a right handness. He is mentioned as a lefty at Eliteprospects.

This guy has some nice Videos from the camp.

From here you can find the guys with jersey numbers:

From people in the Prospects section on HF, it sounds like he was a pretty good pick up.

No biggie. I just like to point that out. I've got a business that relies on advertising to support my content -- so I watch for this stuff.

My general rule of thumb is copy and paste one out of every 8 paragraphs -- and even then, I link and source

I wish Chad lived in Michigan -- we could start a collection and send him up to TC

Don't worry, I'll do my customary rambling reports from TC again this year. I'll even do a Weiss/Alfredsson special just for you.

Too bad McBeast isn't at the camp. Babcock really liked him last year.

Awesome

I actually like your reports Heaton. I don't always agree with your hockey outlook, but your reports are to the point. No BS. No boogers. No drama.

When you write for public consumption, that's life.
You're not some internet poster having a conversation on a message board... A writer's credibility, his style, his choices in subjects -- they are fair game. is always subject for debate

Imagine having a political debate without debating the Rush Limbaughs and Rachel Maddows.

When you're talking Red Wings -- the big names are Khan, St. James, Kulfan (not really.) Duff, etc and then, on the next level, Malik>

It's a tradeoff for having the platform he has, whether he likes it or nopt

I appreciate his effort, but I wish he'd listen to my favorite Nietzsche quote: “Those who know that they are profound strive for clarity. Those who would like to seem profound to the crowd strive for obscurity. For the crowd believes that if it cannot see to the bottom of something it must be profound. It is so timid and dislikes going into the water.” Basically, he needs to stop being artsy and start being clear.

He is good at collecting all Red Wing related news, as well as doing reports on the prospects at these types of camps, but I always take his opinion with a massive grain of salt.

what i don't understand is the hakan hype at times. janmark in 3rd round was a nice pick, i like this kid. but who becomes a steal we can talk about 5-10 years after the draft and not 2 weeks after. and janmark isn't the out of nowhere pick. maybe to people who don't follow european hockey. he wasn't ranked because he was older, but this guy made a lot of noise in the swedish league and when you play for swedish national team you are among an elite group. so one can be sure that janmark was on many teams' lists and the wings maybe were simply smart enough to take him in 3rd round before someone else would have taken him.

janmark was a pick every wannabe scout could have made. all you needed to do was watching swedish hockey last season. a typical hakan pick is playing in the woods with no other scout even knowing the player or even the town.

The russian behemoth I would say in maybe a year or so when contracts open up. Not that he is a guarentee or anything but his size alone doesn't just come along everyday so he might get a look.

George Malik ‏@georgemalik 3h

Sproul. Dominant. Bertuzzi. Smoked by Frk, helmet and glove go flying.

Brendan Savage ‏@BrendanSavage 3h

Bertuzzi did not return after the collision with about three minutes left

THEN

George Malik ‏@georgemalik 2h

Looked like Binkley got Bertuzzi this time. He goes off again favoring his left foot.
