MSG and Nassau Coliseum

So MSG is one of the 2 finalist to purchase the Coliseum. Will we see the Rangers farm team there if they in fact do win the bid. Will our ticket prices go up even more so we can pay to re-do the Coliseum.

I think it would be a public relations disaster (and be financially foolish) to have the Wolfpack move to Long Island.

As a Long Islander I would love if the Wolf Pack were so close.

Not everyone there is a Ranger fan.

They would be alienating many hockey fans there--who might otherwise attend games if the Tigers moved there. Look at the number of people who still dislike the decision to move the Wolfpack to Hartford and are unwilling to go to games there.

Forcing our youth (and other AHLers) to play there would give them incentive to work hard to get out of there

It was mentioned in Newsday as a distinct possibility, along with the Knicks D-League team. I'd probably welcome it.

MSG should just buy it and rent it to the Devils.

Not everyone in Hartford is a Rangers fan, so what?

Even still, theres more Rangers fans on the Island than Islanders fans.

Would love our AHL team to move into there.

I live 10 minutes from the Coliseum so I'd love to see our AHL affiliate there.

I'd love our AHL team to be there. I'd take my kids to games often.

It would be awkward, like taking over your enemies ship in war. Reminds me of Star Trek IV a little.

Personally I'd love it because I want to move back to LI in the next year or two.

But as someone pointed out when this story first broke, the best solution;
-Sound Tigers move into Nassau Coliseum and keep the territory Islanders.
-Wolf Pack move to Bridgeport and have them much closer to NYC and the farm team closer to Westchester and Rockland.

With Parise and Kovalchuk gone, the Devils look like a pretty good minor league team. They have one of the worst farm systems in the league, maybe even THE worst, and with no first rounder this or next year, the AHL is the right league for them.

The Whalepack don't draw in Hartford. I would seriously think about getting season tickets if the play at a refurbished Coliseum. But ONLY if they take those asbestos laden banners (especially the bow tie one) with them to Brooklyn. I live about 30 minutes from that wreck.

ive gone to loads of isles games the past 2 years as a cheaper easier alternative to going to the garden so i would love for the pack to play there as well.

It would be a great idea to move the Wolf Pack there.

- Prospects would be living close to or in the city. No culture shock when they get recalled. Prospects can attend more Rangers games live at MSG.

- Local Rangers fans get to watch some of their top prospects live.

- Rangers have claim in Manhattan, Westchester, a good portion of Northern NJ, Brooklyn, upstate NY, and are taking over the Bronx (the new arena being built will host some practices and events) now they can stake a claim on Long Island.

- Not that it was very difficult to begin with, but last minute recalls would be that much easier.

- Literally no downside other than Hartford Wolf Pack fans will lose their team.

I've brought this up several times (I believe it's my post you're referring to)...

The only problem I can see with that is Whoever owns Bridgeport's Arena raking MSG over the coals, scaring Dolan in the process, and it not going through.

The best thing about the above situation is transportation to each place. Very easy access for both Isles and Rangers players, as well as fans.

I am REALLY hoping the above (what you wrote) occurs in 2015-2016 season. It would be better for all fans involved

Then, I guess we should hope for the NHL to return to Hartford to fill the void ;P

I still find it disturbing that the mausoleum will be renovated after the Icelanders move out.... Beyond stupid that a deal couldn't have been reached....
