I never liked how he talked about Lucic in his post draft interview and on twitter... the kid doesn't understand that when you play that game there is no rule and a guy like Lucic could beat the crap out of ya. I actualy hope he fights a lot this season and learn how to fight.

McCarron said he likes to think he plays like Lucic, not he's Lucic 2.0

I'm sure he'll improve in this department with the right support and practice! He sure looks willing to... But I'm mostly curious as to how well he'll fare with his big body and his skills. Good fighting skills on top of that would be just what the doctor ordered

You are right, I myself took it the wrong way at first listen. The truth is the kid admires and models his game after Lucic. He can play in all three zones and drop them if he has to. I don't think McCarron realized that the media and fans would strictly run with the fighting thing. Unfortunately for McCarron some of the tougher draftees and OHL'ers took note in the wrong way and are now going to be after him for the wrong reasons. McCarron never said, at least I don't think that he said he could beat up Lucic or that he was a force to be reckon with and everyone needs to watch out.

With all that said, things are what they are, and he will need to answer the bell a lot more then if he just kept his mouth closed. Let's hope he turns it into a positive and not fall apart like Komi did when he failed.

The Hunters need to be careful on how they work out this tangled situation and keep McCarron focused on what is real and what is important.

McCarron has a signing bonus of 92.5K.

Does he receives that money even if he plays in London?

If that is the case, I can understand why he is going to London instead of NCAA.

Edit: seems to be the case as Reilly kept his 2012-13 signing bonus but rest of the contract was subject to entry level slide.

So Basically, MB put 277.5K in front of McCarron and said: you want to go to London?

Hunched over a bit too much. Hunter will teach him to stand up straight and correct his stance. I'm not worried. I think London and it's fans would prefer him tapping in pucks and using his size in the offensive zone then to have him fight.

He said at least two times he'll take care of Lucic.

it's pretty much why most teams sign their biggest prospects right away. The kids get to pocket some cash as soon as they're drafted. And yeah, perhaps acts as an incentive to go where your organization wants you to go

Well, going by a 12 second clip, I'll add my little take: he didn't seem to be doing any dirty boxing, more instead a blunt tactic of -- hang on real good with one hand and fill-up the up the knockout meter on the other hand (like in a video game, hold down the A button until the meter flashes POWER). It's throwing little rabbit punches or body shots to get your opponent off-balance, while keeping your balance as you circle and get tugged and pushed by the other player that help take control of the fight -- which can lead to a good face punch opportunity.

But, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway, the point is: yes, from that little clip, he seems to need practice with the nuances of hockey fighting.

In Capgeek it says that the bonuses count against the SCap but it must be true only if the player plays in NHL.

Seems the limit is 92.5K.

Now if the entry level slides, does this allow the team to pay the player bonuses and have the SCap decrease for every year the player spent outside of NHL?
And if the player is called back, the bonus would be prorated to the number of games.

As far as I know, the bonus that's paid out doesn't hit our cap til they play in the NHL. But I could be speaking completely out of my ass here.

Have a farmer family adopt McCarron for a year or two. Most fighters come from small farming towns in Western Canada. Dem farmer fighting genetics. Dem crazy farmers in GTA San Andreas of peace.

Yep. He used to be a respectable fighter. Declined but still tough as nails.
