Wonder what Kessel would do with Backstrom as his center.

I know it must be OVs two way game.

I'd put them at the 9-14 spot.

Definitely a solid top 6 forward group.

Lol, Leaf fans getting way too carried away here.

Ovechkin=Kessel???
Lupul>Semin?

Leafs are gonna have major upset if these are their expectations.

I think low end of the top 10 is probably fair, like around 9-10.

Wow who won this season was it Kessel or was it Ovechkin ? But Kessel is equal to Hart trophy and Richard winner yes its obvious. And your prior post you do realize Ovechkin scored A 100 points as a rookie without Backstrom right ,,,,,, right.

So what if OV can score more.

Kessel can score and pass the puck. OV cannot. Lets see what Kessel could do with a center like Backstrom.

They are both top 5 wingers in the NHL.

I don't know if you noticed, but the OV today isn't the same OV of 3-4 years ago. Its also not the same Kessel as 3-4 years ago.

Try harder.

Wow so much leaf hate in this thread like always. IMO I would put our top 6 around the 8-12 spot.

In reality:

Kadri < Duchene
Kessel > Landeskog
Lupul > Parenteau
JVR > Tanguay
Bozak = Stasny
Clarkson < O'Rielly

Just need to read your post history to know you know nothing about players other than Leafs , You think Horvat is a NJD player enough said. Make a Kessel vs Ovie poll make your arguments I need some more laughs.Every post you make has your Leaf pom poms in it.

The homerism coming from a few Leafs fans in this thread is hilarious. Kadri = RNH? Lupul > Eberle? JVR = Yakupov? Kessel > Hall? Come on.. The Oilers players are so much younger and already just as good if not better.

Some strong irony there eh? And it's mainly coming from one fan.

Talk when your core actually does something. Good luck trying to get by with no real physical players or players with a net presence outside Taylor Hall. You need to have a top six with a mix of grit and skill, and having Eberle, Gagner and Perron all in there won't exactly do you any favours.

On a side note, post #10,000, lol

NEways, the leafs top 6 is one of the toughest in the league + with kessel, kadri, lupul and jvr, they aren't exactly lacking in the skills dept.

top 6-10 imo

IF kadri repeats and lupul stays healthy, they could be top 5 over the course of next season

It was a joke at Devils having no prospects because they traded #9 away. Can't believe I had to spell that out and that you can't even quote the right page (#2)

Talk when our core does something? What have the Leafs done?

I think we'll be just fine not having anyone that plays physical. We are a puck possession team, not a physical team. How physical is Detroit's top 6? They've been just fine for many years playing that style.

I'm sure a very large portion of HF would never trade Hall for Kessel, Yakupov for JVR, Nuge for Kadri and Eberle for Lupul. Just saying.
