Hey Winnipeg fans, just wanted to know if you guys would ever move big Buff, and if so, what would you want in return from the Oilers?

Yakupov straight up.

Gagner (depending on his arbitration award) + Marincin or Musil + pick/prospect

We actually do expect Chevy to entertain offers for Buff but only closer to the trade deadline when Trouba proves himself.

Our needs in order:

- Top 4 LHD
- Picks/prospects (RW prospects would be nice)
- Middle 6 players

What would it take to move big Buff? I'm not big on the fat jokes, but you just rolled out the red carpet with that one ...

i wouldn't mind having Gagner, but if he's part of a package in getting Buff, the pot better be really, really sweet. like, future 1st rnd pick, Gagner and a good forward prospect and I'd consider it.

preferably not a bunch of pieces. Eberle or Yakupov would be the best fit needs wise.

If a quality player like that isn't possible, then assuming the Oilers are drafting at least in the top 10-15, it would be at least that pick and probably Klefbom + ( sort of like the Ryan trade)

Can't see us being interested in Gagner. An undersized 2nd line centre does nothing for us. For Buff we'd want Yakupov, Nug, Hall, or Eberle.

Do we really want 4 1st line wingers? We already have 3. If we were to get one it would probably be Eberle. I just don't see us tying up $20+ million in 4 wingers.

I don't watch many Oilers games, but when I do, Petry always stands out for me.

What about Petry + 2014 1st rounder + maybe a Forward prospect?

Wow guys, there's no way you're going to get any of the Oilers big 4 for Buff.

Gagner seems like the best you could grab and maybe a pick. You guys obviously think Buff is worth more than I do.

I like consistently elite offensive defensemen.
They are nice.

But he's fat and lazy!

I would consider doing Buff for Gagner + a good prospect, but only if I was absolutely confident a deal could be struck without him going to arbitration.

Yes, most fans here are delusional on his value. Yakupov for Buff, lol.

We won't deal Buff until at least next year...when more teams have cap room and some of our young guys have a few more whiskers on their chins

id honestly say.. Buff straight up for Eberle. Thats actuallly a fair trade..

Reality, the oiler fan proposed the trade, you wouldnt get him for a bag of crap thats for sure. You'd have to give up something of significant value..

You have a bunch of young forwards, we need a young forward..

you want one of our best players, we want one of yours

Its really that simple.

Buff is the guy that we can and will move eventually for something we need, what we need is a legit top 6 forward. Setogucci, while i have high hopes for him is probably not a long term solution.

Buff straight up for Eberle.

As for yakupov.. LOL really... we just lost a russian to the KHL... in a few years, edmonton will lose that russian to the KHL... jets would never make a move for yakupov, not after seeing what burmistrov and kovalchuk has done.

You're right, we could definitely use a young RW. I'd probably rather go after Yak, but we'd have to add. He has a sweet one-timer we could use.

2nd most points over the last 3 years to Karlsson. 2nd most goals over the last 3 years to Weber. Rumours abound that he's working out hard and has a chip on his shoulder. Not to be had for a 3-pack of scrub sandwiches.

id make that move if it was guaranteed he wouldnt go to the KHL, thats a real option for these guys.

IF it was for yakupov, id want it to be a sign and trade type deal then where yakupov is signed long term and wouldnt leave a season or 2 later..
