Old threads

I was beyond bored the other night and, without bumping old threads, here are a few fun things I learned from 2004-2007.

-Seabrook was a stud prospect and can't miss #1 D
- Everyone HATED Keith... Always and without exception. What people said about Keith is 2/3x worse than what has been said about Leddy. Interesting perspective.
- in fact, there is a decently long thread where almost everyone agrees Keith should be moved to F!
- people had Bolland pegged as a 3rd liner and defensive stopper very early
- people were appalled at the thought of trading Barker
- we lost the Sharp trade big time
- People were disappointed with the Toews pick
- Kane was by no means a unanimous 1st pick, Turris and Voracek were popular picks
- Byfuglien has always had weight issues
- didn't know how screwed Hawks fans felt about not getting Crosby

Anyone else seen some interesting tidbits from the past?

Hehe, the infamous Duncan Keith= Chihuahua on skates thread.

I miss fullmetalninja, I remember him more from the O boards as that was where I mostly posted at the time. He was a good poster.

Here a few good ones.

My favorite post of all time. Just an epic prediction by Bring Back GLR.

Quote:
All snuggled up in your Canuck blanket when you wrote this. Now let me ask you- do you honestly think that the Canucks will win a Stanley Cup over the next few years and either Sedin will win a Conn Smythe trophy. Answer me that. Cuz I believe that the Hawks will win a Stanley Cup this year, and Toews will be a Conn Smythe winner. I am that assure of the Hawks.
The ridiculous Jonathan Toews hype

He still posts on the 300 level (if you can handle the innuendo).

This is a good thread from the prospects board about how Kane was too small for the NHL and there was no way he'd play the year after he was drafted

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...d.php?t=393659

the best is American Dream insisting that the others are wrong and Kane would be a great player

I feel like a lot of the people around back then don't post anymore. Seems like every time I read an old thread there's tons of posts by people I don't see anymore.

I like the guy who called him "the least impressive 1st overall pick of all time".

These threads just highlight the over reaction on these boards 90% of the time.

I agree, though, in all fairness when you title a thread as "Patrick Kane Size" you're mostly going to attract those posters who think it's a big deal rather than the wider portion of the hockey fan bases.

This entire thread seems like an excuse for people to take potshots at other posters for long dead posts to me.

You post long enough and enough volume about hockey, you're going to have some posts that turn out to be wrong years later. Comes with the territory.

You can always count on keith to make one spectacular bone headed play each game. And it's amazing how much pat foley and troy murray are pimping the guy every game, calling him the "prototypical defenseman" in the new nhl. Yeah, he's the prototypical d-man, without the skills and hockey sense! He touches the puck and they're like "oooh ahhhhh" and "keith has played the greatest defensive game of any blackhawk history! A 10/10 performance!". They even have denis savard in on the pimping. Hey denis, how about focusing on the pp which has sucked for the past 10 years?

If you're sick of the nhl pimping sidney crosby as roy, try listening to the blackhawks commentators, who think that duncan keith is the next lidstrom, norris winner, and probably roy!

Oh, the irony!
