Oh god, I used to tell my friends that this was a great idea:

To Flordia:
Patrick Marleau
2nd Round Pick

To San Jose:
Olli Jokinen

Granted, this was during Marleau's worst season where he was presumably having issues with Ron Wilson, and during Jokinen's best season statistically.

I never was dumb enough to post it here, probably because I wasn't a member yet haha

Personally, I save trade proposals for the bar so when I realize how terrible they are later I can save grace by blaming it on booze. While none really come to mind, I remember arguing with a former coworker that the Sens would be way better off with Redden over Chara. There was no liquor involved but I think I may have been a little off with that one.

Montreal's 5th in 2010 for the rights to Frolov. See the problem here is that we selected Gallagher with that pick....after that one I pretty much quit.

ANA:
Filatov
4th overall

CBJ:
Lupul
Wisniewski
Mitera
1st '10 (ANA)
1st '10 (PHI)

ANA gets a highly toughted youngster who's yet to prove himself in Filatov that never found his niche in Columbus and the 4th overall pick in which they can draft their future top defensemen (Fowler/Gudbranson/Gormley) for if/when Niedermeyer retires.

CBJ gets a skilled powerful skilled top 6 winger in Lupul a big minute defensemen on the backend (WIZ). Also, they receieve a former #1 in Mitera who was highly touted shutdown D-MAN who was slowed by an injury and looking to regain form and both of Anaheim's 2010 1st's in a projected deeper than normal draft..

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny things

Anaheim sits at 12 and their pick became Cam Fowler who I wanted with the 4th pick.
Anaheim second pick(Philly) in the first round became Emerson Etem.

James W. eventually ends up in CBJ.

Filatov flees

Hindsight is 20/20 and glad this deal was shot down by the CBJ faithful haha

It was something like a 2nd round pick & a prospect for Filppula a couple years ago. I'm embarrassed.

My first and only trade proposal...

VAN:Colorado 1st round pick 11th overall (Jamie Oleksiak)
COL: Cory Schneider

I wanted The big O very badly that draft year and the trade was on the condition that he was available at that pick (he wasn't). My short sightedness almost let me trade a future number 1 goalie for the paltry price of the 11th overall pick!!!

What a horrible disaster that would have been if that had gone through...

I'm surprised at seeing less of my fellow leafs fans reporting themselves lol. Okay I have made some bad ones too but heck that's why maybe we are not GM of any team

Those proposals were a very long time ago when you were probably still in diapers.

McDonald+Jackman+Elliot+1st for Ryan. A few years ago when McD was still going strong, not the greatest proposal but its not a train wreck.

I also thought Suter for Nash was a pretty even trade, still kinda do.

I once sarcastically asked Jets fans if they'd accept David Toews for Ladd straight up.

The joke got ruined once we let him go, though.

thread doesn't have nearly enough edmonton and toronto posters from what i seen on here, those 2 fan bases (perhaps due to size) are most guilty of bad proposals.

Oddly enough you rarely see Habs fans making proposals compared to how large the fan base is

Not a trade proposal, but kind of similar.

I was at the 08 draft in Ottawa, and when the Senators traded up with Nashville I was like PRAYING that they'd pick local boy Tyler Cuma. When they announced their pick, I was really angry and upset especially since they traded up to pick someone who was projected to be a 2nd rounder in my book.

Sorry, Mr. Karlsson.
