Remarkably, I always found the actual sequence more impressive. Datsyuk might be the most elusive player in the league, and he's just so shifty. He's also surprisingly strong.

I think it will be very hard for him to do much better. He already can play in all situations and also was winning FO`s in second half of last season. Have some fancy SO moves too. I doubt his offence will go up heavily. (he was 0,5 PPG player last season).

He played a big role last year already. If he can remain the level he played at the end of the last year, it would be great!

About Grabo:

fans on the main boards say that Beauch fought him once in Toronto and Koivu had problems with him in Montreal. I guess he is off the table then, becasue it seemed like more than one fan assumed those facts (so ther could be some par of truth behind that, given his character).

Stephens tweeted about it the other day. He said that there's still some interest, but not for the price he gave them earlier in the summer.

Somebody posted an article from 08 on the main board that had the/a Grabo/Koivu reference. The article itself was a farce. It read like a story from the Onion and it's whole point was to make fun of then Habs owner George Gillette. I'm not sure there is/was ever an issue between Grabo and Saku unless it was beyond that joke of an article.

Sheldon Souray is on the bravo network's "million dollar listing LA" they are covering the sale of his old home in Malibu.
It's on now.

I wouldn't put too much stock into any of that. These are professional hockey players. If it makes the team better I'm willing to bet that Koivu and Beauch would put it behind them.

It's a "reality" real-estate show on the bravo tv network. Sheldon had a home in Malibu because he trained out here in the offseason. After signing with the ducks, there was no need for the property in LA, so the show filmed the process of the sale.

I would have enjoyed that, but the majority of the people that watch Bravo wouldn't have.

Sheldon was well received by the gay real estate broker. "I don't want it sold to any kings fans" SS

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm all the way over in Texas and not too experienced with my Californian geography. I thought you were insinuating he was putting his current house up for sale which would have been weird.

Well, unless he bought a new one, he was renting from Lupul in Newport Beach. So maybe it is kind of weird.

Lydman to leave NHL?

Finnish sports rag Urheilusanomat suggests that Toni Lydman will call it quits in NHL. The paper claims that Lydman has decided that it is Ducks or bust for him. As Ducks have not made an offer, it looks likely that Lydman will return to his home country. He has not considered playing for a Finnish team, though.

Reported in tabloid Ilta-Sanomat:

Dude has vision problems, Concussion, Separated shoulder.. When healthy was a great defensemen, Unfortunaley for him.. He couldn't stay healthy, Ducks don't want to take the risk.

Looking at potential position battles on the team here's what I see.

First line LW(Penner, Palmieri, Silfverberg?)
Second line RW (Selanne?, Etem, Silfverberg)
Second line LW (Palmieri, Penner, Silfverberg)
Fourth line C(Holland, Rakell, other?)
Fourth line RW(Laganiere, DSP, Maroon, Staubitz, Stortini, Etem)

I have the 3rd line left in tact, and Bonino as the no.2 center. Beleskey as the 4th line LW and part time fill in on the top unit.

I think the D is pretty much set, Fowler and Beauch being the two mainstays with the rest sharing 4 starting spots.

Training camp will be very very competitive this year, Holland/Rakell is going to be very hard for BB to decide upon. I'd still like to see Holland get some reps on the wing his game seems made for it, our bottom 6 is going to be really good this season

The Anaheim Ducks don't appear to be in the hunt for unrestricted free agent Mikhail Grabovski.
According to Grabovski's agent, Gary Greenstin, there are three NHL teams that have shown a great deal of interest and he said that he expects a decision to be made sometime this month.
