Raanta ... for so many reasons. But I was also high on Salak. So I may be wrong.

Low floor, decent ceiling and likely to be an NHL player. I don't think it should be surprising that people are voting for a recent 1st round pick in the top-10.. least not 7th.

We should just do a re vote with only those 2 so the people who picked others (like me) have to pick one.

My initial thought is... didn't people learn their lesson from Salak? But it looks like many of the Raanta voters aren't regulars to this forum.

What Raanta did last year was more impressive than anything Salak's done in the SEL or AHL.. but again, goaltenders are incredibly difficult to project, which is why Raanta isn't in my top-10.

Yeah, there's a lot of guys still on the list I'm putting ahead of him, just because goalies are just too hard to predict.

I was in between on Hartman and Johns. Went with Johns since I don't think he should be too far behind AC.

Raanta is not really compareable with Salak. Just listen to what they say about playing in the AHL... then look at what Raanta has done and what Salak has done

Adam Clendeing has the potential to be a very impactful NHLer one day. Not that Johns doesn't, but the offensive upsides aren't even comparable. If Clendening can play passable defense, he should have no problem being a 40-50-point NHL PP QB in the not-so-distant future.

Johns, on the other hand, has questionable offensive upside, but an elite physical game. He can skate, which is an advantage for a guy his size. He has top-4 upside, but without much offense, he'll need to be an great defensive Dman to have a great impact on the game. At this point, he's solid defensively but not great. His physical game is why he stands out and why he could be considered a top prospect.

Raanta's potential seems a lot higher than Salak's was. Plus Raanta actually has something creditable to his name, Finnish playoff MVP and league MVP..

Both very good goalies but I like Raanta's top end potential better, more athletic.
