Good for him and the Canes. He'll have a shot to compete for a spot with the Canes.

Ok, can we merge this with the rumor thread? I'm sorry.

OT but is it possible for a draftee to sign a 1 year ELC? 2 years? Or does it have to be 3?

Awesome. He looks to have a promising future. Can't wait for the season to start.

They just signed him to a 3 year deal. I'm sure they don't want him finally making the big team with only 1 or 2 years left before he's due another contract and a raise.

I expect all of these 1st rounders that have signed to be on NHL ice next season.

Entry-level slide. They could get 5 years out of this deal if they let him play in Sweden for another two years.

At his age, it has to be 3.

18-21 year olds: Automatic 3 years
22-23 year olds: Automatic 2 years
24 year olds: Automatic 1 year
25 or older: No limit

He quoted in the hometown press as being unsure whether he would play overseas this season. The Hurricanes staff seems quite sure he's coming over.

Camp starts tomorrow. This is his big roll-out for the fans.

Also, Rutherford has apparently said Lindholm is most likely going to start camp at C and then make adjustments from there, and also that he is expected to make the team out of camp.

He should stay a year or two and become the go to-guy in Brynäs before joining the Canes, but something tells me they will rush him

They felt he has been playing against men already and is pretty much ready. I can't wait to see him in action.

No doubt he has the skills to play in the NHL. Hope he's built some strength in the off-season though

Actually for Euros it's an automatic 1 year for 25-27 year olds too.

Not McCarron. He signed so he left him with only one option.

Wouldn't it be sick if he were able to step in and play effectively this year? Wouldn't surprise me.

I hope he plays here next year so I can hear fellow Canes fans whine about him being rushed to the NHL even after he turns out to be our 6th/7th (or better) best forward right away.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he ends up playing a wing spot on one of the top 2 lines. He has a physical edge the Canes could really use there.
