Marc Staal to Colorado

What would it take?

Our untouchables list would be Duchene, Landeskog, MacKinnon.

So basically you're not getting Marc Staal.

That eye injury is scary, don't really want him.

For the cost, don't want him. Eye injury and theres a decent chance he'll just bolt to Carolina.

Don't want him for the cost. He's not at all worth MacKinnon, Duchene, or Landeskog, whom Ranger fans apparently would want. Serious eye injury that no one knows how he'll return from, UFA next year, and the likelihood he will just bolt to Carolina. Wouldn't give up a key piece for him at all.

I'm not gonna sit here and argue value, but if Staal is going, one of the big 3 has to be coming in return. I know Avs fans won't like this, but he'll return to 100%. Doctors have already stated this. The recovery process might take a while, but he'll return to form.

There's basically no deal to be made because neither side is going to budge.

I'm not a fan of either team but if you think Marc Staal will get you one of the big three alone your off your rocker. Plus the Avs don't want him, he will bolt to Carolina and he might never fully recover from the eye injury and the ego bruising of the Semin slap fight/attack.

Marc Staal is gonna have to play several full seasons without his eye injury before I trust giving anything of significant value to acquire him. Way too high risk.

A 100% physical recovery doesn't guarantee that he will return to form. Their is a long list of players who never came back the same despite the doctors saying they are 100%.

Richard Zednik comes to mind for me.

I never said Colorado wants him, but you're out to lunch if you think Sather would trade him to Colorado for anything less. I've also already stated that he will fully recover.

That's fine, but I can tell you right now that Sather won't deal him for anything less.

I personally don't want to deal him, he's one of the top-5 best in the league defensively.

I don't think Sather would deal him, he would get no value coming back if he did.

More applicable: Manny Malholtra. Arguably the best 3rd line centre in the league prior to his own eye injury; fringe player and ultimately forced off the Canucks' roster post-injury.

Canucks fans still love him, but he simply is not the same player he once was.

Staal is in a similar situation in New York as Stastny is in Colorado. Fans expect a return to what the player previously was, and value them as such. Other fan bases are wary of the risk and won't offer the kind of value that would be required. There is no deal to be made for Marc Staal, probably by any team.

this is how i feel can't see him having much value to any other team until he's proven he is actually able to return to form , hope he recovers well eye injuries are a scary thing.

Stastny doesn't have an injury to worry about.

A Canadiens fan, of all people, should know the damage the Rangers have done in trades.

Overpayment or nothing on Staal.

Staal is in no way worth Duchy, Landeskog or Mack when healthy even, that's just absurd.

Staal's injury wasn't even in the same Zip Code as Malhotras so comparing the two is worthless. All reports say he is progressing fine. He's not Wolverine, injuries take time to heal.

We are more than happy to keep him.

Rangers Fans: Overpayment, we're not looking to trade him

A complete physical recovery doesn't mean he'll be the same player. Peter Mueller can attest to that.

Can't see a team trading for him, not with his eye injury.

If I'm the avs, I don't pay near what nyr would want. I don't think there's a deal there.
