Kyle Clifford to Edmonton

What would LA fans want!?
You guys still have two players left to sign with barely any $.
So I'm guessing prospects..

I'd offer sheet Clifford in a heartbeat.
Oilers need this guy badly.

But yeah considering how thin the Kings are on left wing, I can't see us trading Clifford without another left winger coming back.

we still have over 3 million with nolan lewis and clifford to sign. I honestly think it will be tight but we will sign everyone. The only way i see clifford beign traded is for a over payment think 1st or 2 2nds yeah that maybe a over payment but thats the only way a mangement and popular player like red dog will be traded especially now the mps is gone from edmonton.

Honestly a deal around MPS would have been perfect IMO. Sadly you guys used him in the Perron deal. Outside of that I can't think of anything being a starting point.

Could we interest you in Ryan Smyth? Please?

I'd do a second and a B prostect for Clifford. If we had a 2nd that is.

lol @ smyth wouldn't take him for free

No it would have to be at least two 2nds but to be honest if clifford would be traded i think he would proberly be headed east not to a divisional rivial like edmonton.

Now that we're in LA's division it would take an overpayment for any trade with them.

Offer sheet $1,682,194 and give up 3rd round pick.
Does LA match?

DL would match. Then next year he'd start targeting Oilers RFA's. Clifford would also have to sign it and want to leave a contender for a rebuilder.

Then trade back to St. Louis and get our 2nd round back for next years and a 4th or something of a prospect.
And offer sheet at 3M

I think it would take alot more then that thou for him to sign. He knows hes on a great team with coach and fans that like him alot. I think he wouldnt leave la for less then 2 min. Playing on a contending team like la is worth playing for a little less to some people.

They won't have the capspace to offersheet anything significant. Plus, we only have RNH up next year, who'll most likely sign a deal well before he reaches RFA status.

How about next years second (we traded our upcoming one in the Perron deal) and a prospect like Pitlick or Rajala?

When the cap goes back up we will. I personally don't see the incentive to offersheet Clifford at 3mill instead of trading for him and signing him at a decent rate. You'd soon start running out of cap space that way and leave your team vulnerable to offersheets.

What do the Kings need? Obviously as a perennial cup contender they have less needs than a club like the Oilers so if we know what you guys need then maybe we could offer up better proposals.

Sorry no thanks not i dont like either player but they really arent something la needs. We need natural lws and we need them with skill to play top two lines. We now have 4 coming porkins kyitsen nykov andreoff and pearson. If we give up clifford we would probely replace him andreoff but it would be a downgrade in experience for a year or two. Clifford to me has 2nd line potential. I see him getting there in a couple years with more ice time. He would create room and protect richards and carter. the reason i dont want or see the need for ur two players as we have william carter and toffolli with lewis (a coach fav) also have vey coming up. So no room for them. However any king trade picks are something we like to get as seen this year we use extra picks to move up to grab people we like in the draft. So at least 2 seconds as a starting point.

Cheap top 6 LW. We're hoping Frattin or Pearson will stick there but who knows.

Understandable. I don't know how many of my fellow Oiler fans would do two seconds, but I would. I'm a big Clifford fan and he is exactly what we need. Problem is we just traded away our second.

A skilled 2nd lw that makes around 2 million hmmm dont see one on ur roster.

We traded 2 2nd round picks in 14 and 15 so i think la wouldnt mind replaceing them. thats about all la really needs.
