I hate that hit, I hate it when Subban does it as well. It's a dangerous hit that someone is going to get killed with on the ice.

I hope the habs find a way to give Blake a job in the organization. He deserves it.

Good luck to Blake! It couldn't have been easy for him to retire but it's nice to see he chose personal health above all else.

Probably helped that he went to those 4 years of college and probably has a degree. I think he'll be fine and wish him the best of luck.

You aren't allowed to ask that... prepare for the backlash.

I feel bad for the guy. He just turned 25, guys. 25. Can you believe it? His career was only starting and he's still young.

The play went so fast. The way he got destroyed is scary. Right when he looked at the puck on the ice for a little second, there was no return point. It was a solid hit, just an unfortunate result.

Heatlh comes first. Hockey has never been so fast and players don't respect each other.

Hope the Habs do something with a Puck-Dropping ceremony or something. Yes they wouldn't need to do anyhting if his name was Jones, but since its Geoffrion might be worth doing something to honour him/the family

Well...If somebody bashes your head open while you do your job I would hope that your employers take care of you too. Maybe I'm old fashioned. Anyways if you can't figure it out I probably can't help you, maybe we just have a different set of values.

In any case I'm glad he has an NHL job and wish him the best of luck.

One has ample time to think when recuperating from injury and surgery. Immobility and isolation make our heads noisier. We need peace. We need closure. And after hours and days and months of thought, Blake Geoffrion, at age 25, has retired. He is taking a job as a pro scout with the Columbus Blue Jackets and will be based in Chicago.

He'll deserve it if he's competent enough for it/meets the requirements and expectations for that position. That being said, I wish him all the best in the future and it is very sad to see a young players career end the way it did.

Keith Primeau, anyone?

I remember he got hit by Perezhogin, was concussed and had to retire because of it.

It happened at Bell too. Crazy.

Good luck, Blake!

#CBJ confirm hiring of Blake Geoffrion as pro scout. The 25-year-old retired earlier this week.

Nice of Columbus to do so, wish we had offered him a position though.. to have the Geoffrion in our organization.

I'm sure where ever he is it is due to being close to family.

In the quote I posted earlier, it states that they're letting him operate out of Chicago, which is where he lives nowadays.
