It's not about the route. It's that there's something for people to work towards. How can you not like that? Man wants to win.

I believe Stavros had a timeline of some sort he believed we'd win in. I can't remember the exact words he said, but it was very similar expectations, as they should. I think he said something to the effect of "within ten years...."

I can see some people interpreting those statements as a bit pretentious, but I don't think that's his intent.

One thing Leiweke has going for him is contagious charisma. At least, he gets me more excited to be a Leaf fan than any member of the board ever has. Don't tell me you couldn't sit down with the guy and have an awesome conversation regarding the team.

What I wouldn't give to have an off the record conversation with one the senior staff at MLSE.

Why do you care what other people think? Especially the "fan bases" of other sports teams..

That's probably the most important lesson in life.

You have to live your life, don't worry about others. Don't care about what other people think of you, what you do etc etc.

Next time someone tells us to "plan the parade", we can tell them we already did and send them the link. Perfect.

Yeah, but something tells me that this guy is different. He seems to actually know what he is doing.

He's no Richard Peddie.

Removing Burke, Colagnelo etc is a message from Lieweke to the internal organization that he (and the Board) are removing the "losing" stink that has permeated these teams for years.

Leafs were the only team that brought the Bruins to Game 7
and Bruins made the finals?

Please tell where or how I contradicted his statement...

After reading the article and listening to this.....it is starting to make sense about the rumours we are taking offers on Dion.

Leiweke is certainly one motivated man. That's definitely not a bad thing for sports in the city of Toronto.

Nonis will probably do anything he is told and be happy he gets a contract extension for being a puppet fall guy and why not.

If they're going to take down all the pictures and historical stuff they should open a Leafs museum, seriously.

Also for the love of god don't let this American have any control over team uniforms.

Could be. The raptors moved Bargnani who was talented like Phaneuf just not consistent and made too many mistakes for his role. We only will know afterward by seeing which players and coaches remain.

Nonis 1st year on the job has been moderately successful in cleaning up the past and getting the team into a playoff spot. Sounds like a GM contract extension is on the way.
Agreed, it really sounded a lot like Burke early words on arrival.
