Smolinski will be what 3rd line center in Ottawa with some 2nd line time and Reinprecht will be 2nd line center in Calgary ??

tough one. I'll give you 2 points on Reinprecht:
1. He's been hurt so far, so its unclear how he'll do for the Flames. He makes his first appearance for the Flames tonight, probably on the 'second ' line with Gelinas and Kobasew

2. Conroy is a UFA at years end. some rumblings that that might mean a trade out of Calgary at some point this year. If so , guess who might be playing with Jarome Iginla. pure speculation of course

Smolinksi is one of many centres in Ottawa who may be playing LW. If he moves to the wing, he could get a varying amount of playing time, anywhere from 1st to 3rd line. I'm not sure if he'll get on the second PP unit or not, which will bump his point totals.

Tough one, but I think Smolinski will get about 17 goals and 33 assists for 50pts. He will play mostly left wing barring injuries to the other Sens centers. Reinprecht on the other hand will probably be called on more to score but he's playing with less talent than Smo. I would guess his totals to be 20 goals, 25 assists for 45pts. Not a big difference. I would pick Smo, mostly bc he will be playing with better talent and notwithstanding that he will likely get less ice time than Rein will in Calgary.

Smolinski, at worst, will be the third-line center in Ottawa. However, he may be moved to LW to clear up the logjam Ottawa has at that position, in which case he'd play on the first line. Either way, he'll outpoint Reinprecht, IMO.

I think it'll be close, but i think Smolinski will barely get more points than Reinprecht. I don't think Steve is quite as good yet.

Tough choice. Reinprecht left tonights game with an upper body injury and I'm not sure how long he'll be out. He did have shoulder surgery this offseason. I'd take Smolinski just because it's seems like Reiprecht shoulder may be bothering him.
