Hall has more speed and a better power fwd
Toews is a better 2 way player
but Tavares is the best
Let me get this straight, you say you don't get why people are voting for Tavares yet you voted for Tavares

I like how Hall has matched Tavares' production year for year, but is apparently multiple tiers below him.

It really is mind boggling. Tavares, as an offence first forward, has simply not produced enough in his career to justify the hype he has on this board. It is absurd.

PS: I am in no way saying that Tavares is not a good player, nor am I ruling out that he becomes the player many here seem to think he already is. I am just saying that right now Tavares is not as good as people here give him credit for.

Tavares plays on a team that almost every fan has pity for.

He cleans up on pretty much any hfboard poll because there's little to no animosity towards the Islanders.

That team is the pity ***** of hfboards.

Well, if we go on one season pace for a team out East then we have to choose Tavares. Not me, not a chance in hell and I like JT.

For me, it's Kane. He's the hardest to shut down. Watch the highlights of every goal in the 2013 playoffs and 2010 playoffs for the Hawks. It seems like almost every goal Kane had a part in, especially the biggest goals. If he didn't get an assist it was often Kane who did the toughest job of breaking through the blue line wall in close (3 or 4 guys right on the blue line waiting) just like the tying goal in game 6 against the B's, no Kane, no goal. He does against teams that have shut almost every other star in the game, I mean, in 2010 the Preds, Vancouver, and Sharks weren't slouches at shutting people down and then the 2013 Wild, Wings, Kings and Bruins, C'mon. C'mawwwwwn.

He just seems to be everywhere and he is the one player when I read opposing GDT's who always sticks out the most, he's just scary to watch, you don't know what's going to happen and there's a good chance when he's on the ice there will be a great scoring opportunity. He can do so much in close that he becomes incredibly effective against the most solid defensive teams. He quarterbacks the Blackhawk's offense and makes everyone around him more productive.

Not to reign on the Eastern Conference circle jerk though /rant

Career points per game:

Kane: 0.95
Toews: 0.91
Tavares: 0.86
Hall: 0.85

Toews just won the Selke and could have won it the last few years too. He has a better career ppg than Tavares and has been the captain of two Stanley Cup winning teams. And yet, Tavares is running away with this poll! Unreal.

Yea because Tavares played with guys like RNH and Eberle, and Hossa, Kane, Sharp. Moulson and Boyes are some players let me tell you.

Moulson had 44 points last year, most people think he's good because of that, watch him play. Boyes and Moulson are both terrible defensively. Moulson just floats around out there and Boyes could never get the puck out of the zone. Boyes is a turnover machine and occasionally gets by a defenseman, has a good shot but tends to shoot high most of the time. Boyes' decision making is awful. Moulson can't even carry the puck up the ice, always passes it to JT as soon as he gets it even when JT has like 2-3 guys on him. He doesn't really do much, he's good on the PP and a very good finisher from right in front of the net.

Should be interesting to see who he plays with. Hopefully they take Moulson off his line and put Bailey there. If Strome makes the team he could play RW on his line.

1. The Selke winner that was a PPG
2. The leading scorer of the west that would be on pace to hit 96 pts
3. The one that was on pace to hit around 90 pts last season
4. The PPG forward that is at best mediocre defensively

Jonathan Toews is the best all-round player, quite easily.. but I just love Kane's game and think there's still another level he can get to, as he was showing this past season.

Kane is so underrated and tavares is now overrated. Hall has matched him ppg wise and out produced him this year. And it's not like tavares is so great shutdown center like toews

Kane/ toews
Hall/tavares

Toews/Kane
Hall
Tavares

Tavares is the most overrated player on hfboards. He's apparently top 3 player in the league while never hitting a point per game while playing in the east while all of the others have done it in the west. To those saying hall doesn't belong here you do know that hall was on pace for 91 points and the next highest on the oilers would 65 points (gagner and he doesn't even play on the same line. Also Tavares started 60% of the Time in offensive zone, he also had a shooting percentage 5% higher than any other year
