The first part of his sentence--"As for my next job here in the NHL"--leads me to think that he's not leaving the NHL. First, "my next [NHL] job" kind of implies that there will be one. You wouldn't say "my next accounting job" if you were getting out of accounting. Second, he says "here in the NHL." That suggests that the NHL is still in his life, not something that he's putting behind him. Also, if he were not returning to the NHL, he'd probably be in the Czech Republic right now, but it sounds like he's "here" in North America, presumably in final discussions to sign a deal. Finally, would he build up anticipation only to disappoint by leaving the league? That defeats the fun of a cryptic message.
Anyways, that's my take. He's an odd guy, though, so you never know.
