Dallas says no imo.
Agreed, but he did add in a #4 defenseman and #2 center which makes up the value difference IMO.

Yeah ok there bud. Hall is the one whos worth 2 crosby's. Not Ebs. Get your facts straight.

Ahahahahahah for a second I thought you were serious, then I realized you must be trollin.

Benn=Eberle (Maybe a SLIGHT advantage to Benn)
Benn>>Gags

And Ritchie same upside as Eberle? Thats ridiculous. If Ritchie becomes Gagner the Stars would be absolutely estatic.

Nah, I'd just wonder why he's suddenly a center when he's been a winger this whole time.

I think you should stop making trade proposals. No way Oilers will do that.

And that he's a fairly non physical playmaker rather than a power forward with a hell of a shot

If I were to insert Klefbom instead of Petry I say no. You can't have Klefbom!

Is Sam Gagner going under the radar in this proposal!??

Eberle is a downgrade from Benn, we don't need Gagner, and Ritchie is one of our top prospects...

HUGE no from the Stars.

The value isn't bad, but why would either team do this? You're trading young forwards for other young forwards. These aren't electrons on PS3, these are human beings. You don't trade them just to trade them. If the Oilers move Gagner or Eberle, it'll be to improve their defense. If the Stars trade Benn ... no, no, I can't fathom a realistic scenario where the Stars trade Benn.

My god when did Brett Ritchie become so overrated on these boards. Overpayment from the Oilers IMO.

He became overrated when Dallas fans finally realized that Scott Glennie is a massive bust

Let me get this straight, Eberle has scored 156 points in 195 games (0.8 points per game) and one year younger than Benn, who scored 193 points in 263 games (0.73 points per game), yet it is Jamie Benn that is the ">>>>>>>" player

I'm an Oiler fan and I'd take Benn over Eberle without hesitation. You can't teach size, and his game is more well rounded. Now, that said, I don't think the difference is Gagner and Petry for Ritchie, that is just ludicrous. As another poster mentioned, this isn't a video game, these players mean a lot to their fans and teammates. You don't just throw around names like Benn and Eberle without analyzing the effects beyond player value. Ebs is a god in E-Town and BFF of fellow deity Taylor Hall. I assume Benn is similarly regarded in the Dallas hockey community. You just don't trade these guys, even if its for each other.

"finally"?

Do yourself a favour and check out the draft thread we had that year. I can't remember any of us liking that pick, especially given who was still on the board at the time. It's not like we've all been thrilled with what he's shown since GM Joe took him off the board (without even as much as a pre-draft interview, for that matter).

Glennie's massive bust status, while not a formality quite yet, wouldn't be surprising to any of us Stars fans.

Bawahahahahahaha oh my. Please go watch hockey. Benn is a little more valuable than Eberle but not that much. Ritchie isn't going to be on Eberle or Gagner's level. Especially saying his upside is higher than Eberle's is just pure stupidity. This value is terrible for Edmonton.
