Benn has more value than Eberle but this is just silly.

To me Benn and Eberle are pretty much a wash...Gags and petry for a prospect in Ritchie....lol nope

Proposals that involve a teams leader and best player always turn out terribly.

Benn falls into that category...

Please excuse "Tattoo" I never see him post on the Dallas boards but when I see him post in the trade rumors section he makes ludicrous comments.

Thank you for a post that actually makes sense and that's correct. But apparently Ritchie will be better than Eberle and Gagner

Honesty I think Eberle + Gagner + Petry is worth more than Benn + Ritchie but I dont think Dallas could do this financially.

I don't need you to apologize for me at all...Sooo i say that Benn ALMOST has enough value as all 3 of the players listed and people don't agree with it. Who cares! I pose this question to you Mr Almighty Stars fan who at the end of the day is on a forum flexing your muscles..Would you trade Benn for Eberle? Would you trade Benn for Gagner? How about Benn for both of them? I know sure as **** i would not but hey everyone is entitled to their own opinions aren't they?

Just because you're entitled to your own opinion doesn't mean they're not complete and utterly wrong and don't make you embarrass the rest of your fanbase.

Eberle and Benn aren't a wash. Benn is on a different level than Benn. Not astronomically, but noticeable enough. However, it doesn't make up for the inclusion of Gagner. The OP is overpayment from Edmonton.

Why Craig MacTavish accepts? Muscle.

*Please be easy on the criticism, I'm new at proposals.
So, EDM gives up a top line RW, a 2C and a top 4 dman, talk about over payment.

It is the point of your opinion making you look bad and not creditable when having a conversation on this site, that is all.

What we need doesnt mean the value isnt fair. Besides that, why dont we need Petry or Gagner? I see a team with two dmen nearing retirement. I see a franchise very shallow on right shot dmen. I see a team that is not exactly set long term at 2nd line center.

Gagner is too similar to my expectations for Seguin: not physical, not strong in his own end, and not good at faceoffs. We can't afford 2 guys who are like that in the top 6. Petry is behind Dillon, Robidas, Gonchar, and Daley IMO, and improving our 3rd pair is at the bottom of our priorities. Plus we have prospects at or near NHL readiness in both positions, with defense also a position where we could find better players in free agency when spots open up if Oleksiak and company do not prove suitable.

The way I look at is that Gagner is clearly an upgrade over what we have as far as 2nd lines center goes for the future. Top 6 centers arent exactly easy to find and I think we can afford to have two offensively skilled centers who arent exactly physical, especially with the wingers we have. Yeah Petry is behind those guys now but Gonchar and Robidas arent going to be around long term.

Which line combo will Eakins use after this trade?

A) Benn - RNH - Yakupov

B) Hall - Benn - Yakupov

C) Benn -RNH - Hall

I hope between Eakin and Faksa the Stars have at least competent middle 6 centers by the time Peverly and Horcoff move on. I'm pretty confident in our ability to replace Gonchar and Robidas internally or through UFA without the need to trade Jamie Benn or Brett Ritchie, and if the Stars decide to move them we can do better than Petry for sure.
