Never said we can't use a player like that. Just question what people expect. He'd help the team but to trade a top 6 player for him would be a little much.

Moen had a bad year but said he would be better. If it was the deal, I would be happy but if not, I would not be opposed to keeping Moen either.

Well the Kings just traded for Carcillo, and Penner signed with the Ducks... this could be happening.

Eklund actually called Penner to Ducks

Good call on that one, actually. Both sides definitely have motivation to tack this onto any potential deal. The Kings could use the depth without affecting their cap, and the Habs certainly don't need to lock up any minor league goalie whose spot is expected to be usurped by Fucale before long.

Why isn't Leblanc strong between the ears? He had one bad year. Clifford may not even be able to handle our market, so I don't see it, not yet.

His Montreal Juniors team also went on to loose in the second round of the QMJHL playoffs, despite finishing #2 overall in the regular season. Only team they beat were the (at the time) lowly Halifax Mooseheads and even then the Moose nearly pulled out a game against them.

FWIW, I'd love if we found a way to trade replace gionta with morrow too. With Parros, Moen, Prust, Morrow, White, Clifford etc... it would give us a pretty physical line up.

Well i guess I would disagree with you that Leblanc (at this stage of his career) has any more potential than Clifford. Not only does Clifford win the tale of the tape and bring a physical element that Leblanc will never incorporate into his game, he has also put up similar numbers to Leblanc in the CHL while being a year younger and has shown actual offensive progression over his first three years in the show.

Leblanc was definitely the more highly touted prospect at draft time, but Clifford has progressed nicely since then whereas Leblanc has stalled. I would argue that the gap in potential has been narrowed if not closed based on that.

A guy close to the Kings with actual LEGIT sources who doesn't spew bull **** trade proposals to drive views basically debunked the Clifford rumors. So yeah....not happening.
From a Kings poster on the main board.

Not saying it's true or not....as I believe that Eklund do seem to have "some" insides infos...just not ALL the inside infos he claims he has.....but I fail to see the relation between getting Carcillo....Penner signing with the Ducks...and trading Clifford.

They lost 1 guy, got 1 guy. And we have no idea who's coming back for them for Clifford.

"When there's a story, will share" is vastly different from "There will be no story to share". Not to get anyone's hopes up, but if nothing is finalized, then Hoven is right - there's nothing to share... yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is developing into something bigger, like Clifford and a defenseman (maybe even a pick) for something like Moen, Leblanc, and one of Mayer/Tokarski.

As I said, Clifford and Leblanc's CHL careers aren't as close as you think. Clifford's team had a lot of depth, Leblanc was highest PPG player on his team though.

I won't disagree, Clifford should not be taken lightly and has earned his keep but it doesn't change my opinion, Leblanc has higher offensive potential. I don't feel Clifford has much, he didn't even hit PPG in ECHL last year.

For a second there I thought that Bergevin actually had balls in the air.

Nope, turns out it was yet another yoga position.

To add to Eklund, a TSN produced posted the rumour 7 hours ago. Eklund's rumour about Penner signing was posted 5 hours ago.

So, Eklund is 0 for 2 today.

You should read over that tweet again. Not that I'm one to defend Eklund, or that I'm saying I even think the rumours are remotely true, but the tweet you're quoting doesn't say what you seem to think it says.
