Predict Petro's Contract

Ok I know we have talked to death about the Blues RFA and offseason moves but I just want to get some predictions on what people think AP will finally sign for.

My guess: 6 years 6.75per.

not sure how many years it will be but Id assume the Blues want this kid locked up for the long haul. A 7 year contract brings him to age 30...so Ill go 7 years 6.75MM per year

The more I think about it, the more I can see Armstrong only giving him a 5/6 year deal (although he should be locking this kid up long-term IMO).

I'm going to go with the Armstrong continues to piss me off this offseason contract. 2 years 5.5 million the first season 6 million the second season.

I really am hoping it's an 8 year deal. Just part of me thinks it will be a short bridge deal like Armstrong seems to like to give out a lot.

yeah I would predict a 7x6.75 deal but I guess there will be something that makes me not happy here, either money or term and since Army isn't exactly know for throwing money around I think its a 4 or 5 year deal...hope I'm wrong.

Cannot see Army giving out more than a 5 year deal, even with a guy like AP. Ill say 5 years at 6.75 mil

While I agree with what everyone is saying about Army I hope he knows that this is the one deal he may want to go 7 or 8 years with. Its the best and most important player on the team. A true number 1 guy a real franchise player so hopefully we don't see a 4 year deal or even worse a 2 year deal.

If he is signed for any less than 7 years, then I'll go crazy. You simply can't run a competitive hockey team in that manner.

Either a contract that keeps him a RFA or something that is 6+ years.

If it's a deal that keeps him a RFA when it's over it wont be the worst thing. It'll suck because when it's over he could have a Norris and be an 8 million plus a season player to sign long term. But at least he'll still be a RFA. I hope it's an 8 year deal but wouldn't be shocked if it was a bridge deal.

If its not a 7 or 8 year deal, Armstrong fails miserably.

If Armstrong doesn't give Petro at least 6 years then he's not doing his job right.

Army and ownership need to know that if you are lucky enough to have a top 5 to 10 dman who is young and has potential to win a Norris or 2 you have to go close to max years. It is just the way it is and if they go with a 2 year deal you are taking a huge gamble.

I have and will again predict if he doesn't get top dollar, if I was in his shoes even though there's a little gamble I would want a shorter deal. That way you can max out the next deal with many options. Now a course it will depend where AP is at, performance and where he desires to play his remaining years.

My current prediction is 6 to 6.25 million for 5 or 6 years.

I don't think we should be too upset if he's locked up for 5 more years, allot can happen in that amount of time. If he's happy with a deal that helps the club being competitive, isn't that a good thing?
