No, it really doesn't make sense for 2 of the teams. The Leafs make out like bandits.
The Rangers need McDonagh more than they need Kessel and the Oilers need RNH more than they need McDonagh contrary to the HF myth that the Oilers have no defensemen and tons of forwards.
There's also the real possibility that RNH turns out to be the best of these three players. His potential is through the roof.

I think a trade centered around Eberle and McDonagh would make more sense but i can understand why the Rangers wouldn't do that either.

Agreed and if the wanted a scoring soft winger why trade Gaborik makes no sense only one it does for is Toronto who needs a 1 c as bad as Oilers did for a decade.

After this trade the Oilers center depth is Gagner, Gordon, Lander, Arcobello and that equals most likely #1 overall pick in 2014. So the Oilers give up our #1 center + very high pick for McD. What a joke. Just absolutely terrible. **** sakes people think about what you are proposing. You don't fill a hole by creating an even bigger hole

Looks Good

Taking a step back and not caring about any of these teams. This trade has value for every team and it is fair all the way.
On the other hand, i could see why ppl from their fan bases could hate this proposal as well.
Either way keep them coming, (realistic) NHL landscaping trade threads are awesome.

Oilers are not trading RNH + a pick that would be top 5 after this trade cause of our ***** center depth for McD. That's terrible value and not fair at all

You're right. It's god awful.

Okay, reading a bit further you're concerned about value.

And it's waaaay off.

If the Oilers get rid of RNH our 1st round pick immediately becomes a lottery pick that has the chance of being 1/2/3 overall.
So we get rid of our 19 year old franchise #1C and a potential 1st overall to pick up a kid who MIGHT be a top pairing Dman?

Value is brutal for the Oilers.

To Toronto: Mcdonagh
To New York: Taylor Hall
To Edmonton: Phil Kessel

from what I gather in the other thread, Toronto needs a shut down D (Mcdonagh), Rangers need a #1 LW (Hall), and Edmonton gets someone to replace Hall, though Kessel is a RW so I'm not sure this works either haha

I gotta say that McDonagh is a good young D-man but a Karlsson-Subban-Chara he is not. Is he the HF OEL?

And I think a key is we can use another scoring winger like you said, but we don't really need a Kessel. We could use another guy that can give you 25 goals. We don't need a 35-40 goal scorer that will come a huge price.

The absolute last thing the Oilers need is another top6 RW. We already have 3. 4 if you count Perron.

agreed, I honestly think Perron would have been a good fit. nice cap hit, right handed shot, goal scorer, plays LW. everything we could use.

Not even a year ago Subban wasn't in that group either.

So the Oilers give up far and away their best player who is signed for 6 more years for 1 year of Kessel?

Yeah...no...

Not to mention there's no chance of Kessel re signing without his BFF playing here.

Just cut out the leafs. Hall for Mcdonagh makes more sense.

Although I think the rangers need to add

Regardless, the oilers aren't trading Hall for Kessel. Hall's value is higher.

You won't find a single Oilers fan who would even remotely consider that.
