why is that just curious? hall is 22, Kessel is 25, both are wingers, I guess you can say because of the contract Hall is on, but Kessel has been a PPG the last 2 years on a team thats not that great, playing with less talent offensively than Hall.

FWIW, I wouldnt trade Mcdonagh for hall either, as already stated, the rangers do need another scoring winger, but not someone who can score 30-40 goals, just someone better than Hagelin and Kreider at the moment and that will come for alot less than Mcdonagh.

How is centre a position of strength for the Oilers? If they traded RNH it'd leave them with Gagner as their 1C and have no 2C...

Hall is younger, at the same ages Hall has been better, he leads the Oilers, when he succeeds the Oilers succeed, He's a better all round player, our next captain (most likely), he has a long and reasonable contract and Kessel put those numbers up on 2 better teams (one being a Playoff team). So that's why.

the same can be said for Kessel, the only thing Hall has on Kessel is a better contract and a few years younger. Toronto might have been a playoff team but it was a short season. Kessel is not playing with that great of talent either.

I was wondering that as well.
Gagner
xxxx
xxxx
Gordon

Centre isn't exactly the Oilers strong suit. Nice try OP, but you clearly have no idea

My post above was sarcasm btw. Kessel is not going to get traded unless its a huge overpayment. That package is good, but I'm not too sure about RNH. Has a lot of question surrounding him. Just leave the leafs out of this.

Although, Rangers and Oiler would make a great trading partners. Something like Eberle for McDonagh would make sense. Of course some fans of either side might disagree but I think this a great deal.

Probably the best 3 team proposal I've ever seen on here, value is very good.

The only problem is that each team is left with a gigantic hole in the position they're giving up.

No the same can't be said. Kessel isn't really a leader besides offense. And Hall is a much better play for his age as compared to Kessel at his age. They are actually fairly equal offensively at this point.

As an Oiler fan this thread was altogether an unbearably painful read absolutely 0 interest in trading either the Nuge or Hall.

Ok if Kessel has more points than Hall at the end of the 2014-15 season you delete your HF account and if Hall has more I'll delete mine

That's stupid and pointless. I'm not saying Hall is better offensively (although he has been at the same ages) but he is a better leader and a better all round player. Which is what I'm saying. More to it than just points there bud. Personally I think they will be close this year

really? Kessel has been an amazing playmaker when he wasn't lighting the lamp and under Carlyle his D game has become actually kinda reliable. There is no part of Halls game that is better to Kessel's game to start this season.

Hall is better defensively, equal to Kessel offensively, a stronger player, a better team leader and doesn't float like Kessel has in the past and his +/- is better

To anyone saying this deal makes sense for the oilers : we have 2 #1 RWers in yak and ebs plus hemsky is also a rw. Why on gods green earth is it a good idea to trade our only real shot at a true 1C for help on the blue line?!?! When we have a gluten of RWers that can be moved for help on the blue line. Awful proposal!! Get a grip fellas !!

It took Kessel 6 seasons to become a ppg player Hall 3 and Hall ppg career high is already higher than Kessel Season and Career. Make a Hall and Kessel poll who would you rather have.

There you go! But there was already a poll and Hall won it
