Having passion for your favorite sports team somehow now means you have no life? Does that even make sense?

I was over it quickly enough, but only because I didn't see how we'd make it through Pittsburgh and Chicago this year. It was still rough though.
I'm also finding that, if you watch sports for long enough, you get crushed enough times that you aren't as shocked when it happens... The worst ones for me are the outcomes decided by refs.

Perhaps you weren't quite the person who should be defending someone calling fans out for having no life.

I'm not over it yet, but the Stanley Cup finale in game 6 eased the pain somewhat. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of goons either.

It's still too soon to talk about it rationally for me since that was the last Leaf hockey we all watched. As soon as the next season starts it'll be long gone in my memory as another event and focus on the 2013-2014 season.

Since we have no other hockey to talk about since that happened, it's still a sore spot for most people including myself.

You can still be upset and heartbroken by what happened, but be over it.

Ya that day was worse for me. It's worse because we could have won the cup if not for that day. I believe the Leafs would have beaten Montreal.

Would have been a massive event too...what a terrible terrible situation. Gotta be the worst day ever for the Toronto Maple leafs.

This year despite us losing to Boston in spectacular heartbreaking fashion, there was no chance the Leafs would win the cup anyway.

I had to work the night of game 7 so I Pvr'd the game so I could watch some highlights when I got home. Just deleted it a few weeks ago without ever watching it. Couldn't stomach having to witness what happened. The constant texts from my friends, updating the score for me was enough for me to handle

The assumption as to the quality of my social life based on the extent of my emotional attachment to the hockey team we support is about as accurate as if I stereotyped you as a overweight, single, Mountain Dew Code Red drinking 40 year old virgin who lives in his mothers basement based on the amount of times you've hit the submit reply button.

For what it's worth, I happen to live a very fulfilling life that I'm completely comfortable with. At least, it's enough that I don't have to reassure my sense of self worth by means of judging others that I truly don't know a single thing about.

I see more validity in his correlation hypothesis than yours.

I'm over it but I still don't want to see the goals scored by the bruins in that game 7, I've seen them multiple times before but seeing the Bruins happy gives me the wierd jiggers. Thank god Blackhawks put them in their place

Yep, took until the Bruins choked in the finals, but I'm over it. Game 6 vs the Kings in 93? Not so much. Sad, I know.

Which puts me in a dilemma as to whether it's even worth replying to someone who clearly has a much lower level of intelligence and self esteem.

Strangely, I don't feel as satisfied with making completely asinine remarks about strangers on the internet as you make me feel like I should.

After that games, nothing seems to make me sad anymore.
It's like my brain just went numb.
I feel nothing anymore
