Would it kill them to put a "all times are local" thing on the schedule? That's my assumption anyway.

Every group has 2 solid teams. IMO, the toughest group is

Czech Republic
Team that will go 0-3
Sweden
Switzerland

Oh yeah, "Fall back" and it's about 6 weeks before the "Spring forward" adjustment. This s**ks a little bit more.

My shot at the USA roster:

Parise-Kesler-Kane
Pacioretty-Pavelski-Kessel
VanRiemsdyk-Stepan-Ryan
Brown-Backes-Callahan

ex. Stastny, Oshie, Galchenyuk, Pominville

Suter-McDonagh
Shattenkirk-Yandle
Martin-Carlson

ex. Orpik, E.Johnson

Quick
Anderson
Schneider

I don't think Slovakia are on the same level as the rest of the big 7 anymore, so it shouldn't be a big issue. I think the divisions are pretty well balanced to look at them. Each has a top, top team (Canada, Sweden, Russia) a smaller top team (Czech, Finland, U.S.) and a darkhorse secondary team (Slovakia, Norway, Switzerland)

Vanek could also steal a game for Austria.

Anyone know what time the games will be EST

I know this would make absolutely no sense, but I always wished hockey would move to the summer Olympics so that the NHL didn't need to stop for two weeks

It looks like most of them are on the weekend. I guess it's not that difficult to follow them while at work, but I'd prefer to be able to watch them live.

But they'll probably score 4 goals every game.

Tyutin, Gonchar, Markov, Voynov, Kulikov, Volchenkov, and Emelin is a decent defensive set. It's better than Czech, Finland, Slovakia's defense as a group IMO. The problem is that Russian forwards don't help enough in the defensive game. Anisimov is the only one I can think of.

I hope for their sake that they aren't going with Bryzgalov in net again. That meltdown would be hilarious for us, not so funny to them.

In the Olympics, that is not decent.

As for Russian forwards, I think you insulted Datsyuk by accident.

We are a "smaller top team?"

OK then.

This is on an international size rink so you might as well remove Canada from the "top" team too.
