Of the eight afternoon Saturday games, five are home games.

The afternoon games make sense to me.

Sens fans will be watching whenever they play, we'll likely also be watching the HNIC main event no matter who it is.

People around Canada like to tune in and hope Toronto/Montreal loses.

I am okay with afternoon games.

I can take my kid.

When I watch at home they will be in HD.

More afternoon games on saturday = more Potvin and less HNIC.

Why are we complaining?

Hmm, might plan on going to that game vs. Buffalo for their home opener, either that or the game vs. Chicago, Id rather go up on a Friday vs. a Tuesday though.

Any one know if sportsnet still retain the tv rights? Hope they have every game minus tsn, HNIC, etc. like they did last year.

a night game following an afternoon game isn't that bad. Provided they don't have far to travel.

Frank Finnigans is being renovated not expected to be done until 2nd week of October. Also going to be renamed the Sports Check Sports Bar and Grill, from what I've been told, I worked at finnigans the new place is going to be pretty nice. So that could be a reason we open on the road for so long.

Why is a 6-game road trip fine, but a 6-game road trip to start the season is a crime against humanity?

I'm just pissed that the California road trip is in October, and that the LA/Anaheim games are four days apart - I'd wanted to go to Vegas this winter, and skip down to LA for those two games, but they're too far apart to go to both.

I actually like the names. The Metropolitan division is a good name for a division that's got three teams in Metro New York/Jersey, plus teams in other huge Eastern American cities.

More back to backs probably because of the condensed schedule due to the Olympics.

I have no problem with the Metro division. I just think it's dumb that they kept the Atlantic name, but none of the original Atlantic teams are in the division. Should have called ours something else imo.

Leafs have 9 back to backs. We had the most back to backs this past season, so I guess it makes up for it.

Yep, I counted those.

That said, Sens Twitter has now said 16 and I re-counted and got 15. May very well have missed one, but I'm going to assume it is 16 now.

I don't mind the schedule.

I like the road trip to start. Good chance at bonding for the new players and rookies.

Back to backs are obvious, there's an Olympic break in between.

Interesting schedule. I like afternoon Saturday games too.
I think to start the season out on a western road trip is actually good for teambuilding.

10 of the last 15 at home is pretty nice.

Will be nice to get the dreaded "west coast swing" out of the way early. Maybe they can roll out there and surprise some of those teams before they've had a chance to gel.

If the Sens can even finish 3-3 on that first road trip, it would be huge!

just saying lol

Was never really sure how Toronto also get the western teams to schedule earlier games when they are out there, i get there are a ton of fans but it seems like a competitive advantage to me
It's all about ratings

In general it's not really a competitive advantage though. When you play on Friday it'll hurt you but when you play on Sunday it'll help you
