To Winnipeg:
Ryan O'Reilly ($5,000,000 in 13-14, RFA at seasons end)

To Colorado:
Zach Bogosian (currently an RFA)

Not particularly a fan of either team, but it was an idea that popped into my head. I think O'Reilly would be a good fit with Winnipeg and give them a really good, up and coming young center. With the Avs drafting MacKinnon, it is a good possibility that he could be moved. The Avalanche could also use an upgrade on the blueline. Bogosian is still fairly young, has room to grow and could become part of the core of their team. Any value here? Fair proposal?

Well, for starters, O'Reilly cannot be moved right now...

And as an Avs fan, huge yes. Almost certainly a no from Winnipeg.

Ryan O'Reilly can't be moved until 1 calendar year after Colorado matched his offer sheet.

We'll trade Buff for ROR when the year is up!

Sold, just get Bettman to nix the 1 year rule.

Definitely could see this kind of deal being done at the deadline though.

ROR for 1 defenseman who is still establishing himself, but is clearly a top 3 as is. Pure hockey trade

Good deal for both sides IMO. Colorado gets a top pairing D-Man who can play with EJ and Winnipeg gets their #1 center.

the value of Bogosian in the other thread was a signed picture of jesus on toast... not sure that = O'Reilly...

I'm sure most Jets fans wouldn't even trade Bogosian for Duchene 1 for 1 nevermind O'Reilly

You might not agree, but it's true.

Some would.... Most would not.

Bogo is loved in WPG.

Ehh, I wouldn't be too comfortable offensively with ROR as my first line center. But I mean I if there were no other options, then sure.

Winnipeg fans over value Bogosian like you wouldn't believe. Sure he is a good player, but wow some things they say are way out of line.

Not really. Take your most valued player of whatever team you may be a fan of and apply that value to Bogosian. That's who he is to this team in the view of Jets fans and management.

Bogo is a lot closer to Duchene in value than ROR. ROR simply doesn't have the offensive upside to be a #1C, not to mention how overpaid he is and how high his QO will have to be.

You know that's know how trade value is derived, right?

We believe in Bogo, the city LOVES him and he's one who actually likes the "small town" feel some get from Wpg. He's expected to sign for 6-8 yrs... Really hard to appease others by joining in trade talks including him (or Kane).

Creates more issues for Winnipeg then solves. What could make more sense is a Stastny for Buff or Enstrom deal but that would be dependent on the development of Trouba, Postma, Redman and the assessment of how away they think Morrissey is. Stastny would be a big upgrade plotting his playmaking between Kane and Setoguchi however Schiefele may be able to fill that void as well even though he would be better suited on the third line.

I don't see why Ryan can't become a 70-80 point player once he learns to use his heavy shot, provided he's played in a first line role with first line wingers. With his defensive game don't really need much more out of your first line C, especially if you've also got a really strong defense.

That makes no sense.

Yes, he is a valuable player, yes, the Jets don't want to trade him. That doesn't mean his value is Crosby, Neal, and a 1st round pick.

With Bogo we just find all trade chatter and value talk to be funny and irrelevant. We just won't play along. I personally would likely do a bogo for duschene trade in a value vacuum. But given their respective meaning their teams its a silly thing to talk about.

Bogo for OReilly = Chevy getting run out of town. Buff for OReilly is a possibility as early as trade deadline this yr depending on how standings look. From my Jets perspective. Some Jets fans would want more. And I'm sure Avs have their share of vocal Buff haters like every other fanbase.

Not fair. Roy and Sakic would get run out of town if they trade ROR for Edit: Buff. The gap between ROR and Duchene is clearly there but overall it is not that huge.
