Devan Dubnyk to St.louis

What is the value of an upgrade in net worth to Blues general manager Doug Armstrong?

He wouldn't be an upgrade in net at all... I doubt we would have any interest.

Honestly not trying to rip on you but this makes no sense. St. Louis already has a log-jam in net and Dubnyk would not be an upgrade whatsoever.

Yeah, let's add on to our surplus of goalies. Great idea.

Edmonton can't provide an upgrade in net.

Even though Dubnyk is better than Halak, Elliot or Allen I don't see why St.Louis would trade for him.

Eh, I would put him on Elliotts level. Solid goalie, but they are both #2 (or at least should be) on a contending playoff team. Halak is better, he just cant stay healthy. Allen isnt a finished product, and could turn out to be the best of the bunch, although Im not sure he is will be a Top 15-20 goalie in the NHL either.

Nope, I disagree. Last year Oilers was 19th. The year before they were 29th and two years ago 30th. From those years Dubnyks .920, .914 and .916 are insanely good numbers considering the fact his team (especially defence) has been absolutely terrible. I have no doubt he will become consistent 92-93% goalie in the upcoming years and that being said I wouldn't trade him for injury prone Halak nor Elliott who has had one good season on his career.

This makes no sense for St. Louis and just as little sense for Edmonton.

On the plus side, at least this isn't another stupid trade proposal.

Makes no sense for the Blues. I'm not sold on Dubnyk as a true No. 1 goalie, at all, despite his SV% of late. He's no better than Allen and Elliott and he's not as good as Halak. If the Blues wanted to upgrade in goal, they'd be going for a guy like Miller (who they've had talks with Buffalo about) in hopes of a run for the Cup, not Dubnyk. I have my doubts he'll ever be enough to get even a decent team into the playoffs.

Well that's good because the Blues have no need for him. Elliot did just fine the 2nd half of last year and in playoffs.

Please defend your reasoning and thought process? And who did you want in return? You clearly had someone in mind.

The blues go backwards with Dubnyk.
No reason to penalize the goal position.

The questin should be, how do the Oilers get Halak?

St. Louis trading Halak or Elliott to make room for Allen is much more likely than adding Dubnyk

Allen is going to be the real deal and the goalie the Blues have been looking for. Next year at the latest

Why? He's no better than any option we have. An more expensive than two of the three? Not interested.

I think Dubs is very underrated.

Having said that the blue should still have absolutely no interest with 3 starting quality goalies and a tweener in Elliot.

But would love to see what Dubnyk can do on a team tht actually plays defense in front of him. Perhaps it'll happen in EDM this year
