If Stammer can score 60 goals as a centermen, I think he's qualified. He'll be centering the 2nd scoring line with St. Louis + 1.

Bergeron has played wing in the past at most International tournaments iirc including 2010. He's obviously progressed since then, but I could see a shut-down 3rd line of Richards - Toews - Bergeron. That'd be a fun line to watch.

I didn't say Stamkos isn't good enough at center to play center. I just think he could score 60 goals playing as a wing too. I think Toews and Bergeron lose more playing wing than Stamkos does.

that was pretty much the 4th line in 2010 i dont see how bergeron and richards wont be on the 4th line this time around

Stamkos played wing in the world championships and Giroux was the center. Im sure Stamkos will have no issues being a trigger man, for Crosby or Toews

Yeah I know what you're saying.

I think Bergeron has enough experience at wing/speed that he can be just as effective there as anywhere, depending on his linemates. I'd be willing to bet Bergeron will be RW on Toews "shut down 3rd line".

Down the middle I could see Team Canada going Crosby, Stamkos, Bergeron, and Toews. While Toews may have been on the Stanley Cup winning team, I think Bergeron out-played him for much of the playoffs.

interesting that fleury wasnt invited.

if he purposely wasnt invited rather than missing due to a prior obligation, than its clear to everyone in the hockey world except shero/bylsma that fleury now sucks big time.

Yeah, guy goes from third string behind Brodeur/Luongo to not even a camp invite. Not a good year for MAF.

I don't expect Neal and Kunitz to make the team, but good for them to get that invite. And a nice slap in the face to Flower, WAKE UP!

Especially congratz to Kunitz!

And yeah, MAF if it's no or never. Team Canada isn't going to help your reputation.

Not that surprising IMO. Everyone expected the final change of the guard this year in terms of older guys getting the boot.

Yah that's a nice feather in their cap / should be a good experience if nothing else. As for Flower... I don't know if he'd take it as a slap or not; there's no way he expected to be there unless he's delusional.

Kunitz with an invite and Benn left without seems a bit off to me, but I'm happy for him.

Considering he was on the roster last time I'm sure he expected an invite.

Benn didn't have a great season but I'm surprised he didn't get an invite given how versatile he is.

I'm all for him getting a little slap in the face. Maybe he'll respond better to criticism than he does to reinforcement.

could be time to have a general Olympics thread:

Jokinen was invited to Finland's camp.
Martin, Orpik and Bennett were invited to Team USA's Olympic camp.
obviously Malkin was invited to Russia's camp.

TSN mentioned that the players won't actually be taking the ice during camp for insurance purposes. So camp is really nothing more than a meet/greet.

Apparently they can't do anything on ice until after the Christmas break.

Well he has been part of TC from his WJ days and he was there 4 years ago. Now Brodeur is gone and instead of moving up the guy has completely fell off. I think it's a big wake up call, he doesn't get his **** together after his contract is done with us he will become nothing more then a backup IMO

Can't wait to see how he starts the season
