Interview went quite well. They do a lot of cutting edge tech stuff, have good benefits [great health insurance, company stock, bonuses, etc], and it's close to where we want to end up. They are interviewing 10 people and will make the decision by the end of next week. There were some things I wish I could say I had done [setting up a citrix infrastructure, for example], but overall I meet their qualifications rather well.

Car shopping... Oh jow just what I want to do. But we need something with more room for when the baby arrives so I to start looking and doing my homework now.

You'd have to have another car, which is pretty annoying, because it wouldn't be anywhere near as awesome as the Model S

Yes, but anything regarding cars was much much worse in the "good old days". Just like how ABS, air bags, ESC, crumple zones, pretensioners, all didn't exist back then (or were options).

Muscle cars these days still are RWD, but the Tesla S is not a muscle car.

MySQL storage engines, y u no have nested transactions?

I'd rather not defer an insert until after the main transaction is committed or rolled back, but whatever. You win.

The only things that have gone right today where my run and my light workout before breakfast. Everything else has pretty much been ****.

I'm sad we breezed through the entire first season of Orange is the New Black. Netflix is definitely on to something with this whole original series stuff. Especially since "binge watching" tv programs is so popular.

Not to spoil anything...but everyone on that show is a horrible person. I left it feeling profoundly depressed.

Still thought it was a great show though.

I like my replica AC Cobra as it doesn't have any of those silly things on it with the exception of ABS; it only has windshield wipers as I had to put them on to pass inspection. Though I don't know why any sane inspector would pass it without as it doesn't have a roof or any option of a roof.

Now that I think about it, I don't currently have a single FWD vehicle. The classic cars are all RWD, as is the F-Type and Cobra. The only non-RWD is my Thundra but that's 4WD so doesn't really count.

Even the unfettered wifi that most everyone uses to listen to music is hosed. Why did I bother coming into the office today? Oh, that's right, to not bury people in the backyard AND to try to find something someone has misplaced in a co-workers desk that has been missing for a month. Then the 900- and 700- user population issues showed up.

Time to put my phone's hotspot wifi on and listen to something soothing.

Yeah, I ended it and basically just said, "......well, alrighty then. That's that, I guess...."

I did figure that ending was going to happen. Wasn't sure WHO, but knew she would.

I was thinking about doing Prague after Thailand so could fit Austria in; as it would be September so a cross-border hop to enjoy Oktoberfest in Germany might be in order. I would probably have to get a few dozen pints of Pilsner in as practice before heading to Germany though.

Having seen a little blurb on Orange is the New Black, I was reminded of one of my suite-mates in college, who while trying to decide if he was going to break up with his long-time girlfriend from high school, got a call saying she'd been arrested. Her crime? Driving her roommate to remote Florida fields to pick up drugs dropped from planes flying out of the Bahamas.

Ha, funny you say that. I was just working on rollback / commit stuff for an MQ -> SOAP middleware piece I've been developing.

I think my current manager is just now realizing how ****ed he will be in a week when I leave. He relies on me so much. I can only write down so much in a Word document, sorry I can't leave my brain there too....

I just baked six dozen cookies for a potluck at our staff meeting tomorrow. I now remember why I prefer buying everything.

Anyone following this gunman story in Lancaster?

Some guy near the Flix movie theater on Transit/Losson is on a roof with a gun, apparently.
