That storm was crazy in the middle of the night. Lost power, although briefly and tons of lightening. Just glad it didn't wake my son up.

I think that is what makes the show so good.

All the characters are flawed, both the inmates and those outside the system and working the system. And in many cases, those working at the prison appear more horrible than the inmates. Also, although most of the characters are based on stereotypes, I don't think any prison character was "overdone" or "too stereotypical". I think the acting has a lot to do with the success of the show.

Ours were last year! And not so much a production problem as a greed problem.

I think refactoring the core architecture to big data will be a great first step to pay off our technical debt.

I saw that. I live right near there. Right off William. The news said he jumped.

And I heard no storm last night. How long did it last?

Way to go Afino!

The sale at the Central Library downtown started today. It was kind of in a small cramped back room. And felt slightly illegal.

On the plus side I did get 8 books for 4 bucks, so that was fun.

Also, meeting Neil Gaiman on Tuesday night was one of the best moments of my life. One of the nicest humans I've ever met, even after signing few thousand books and it being past two in the morning before he was done.

Orthopaedic specialist confirms that I tore my ACL. No hockey (or Fall ball) for a while.

Sitting around for six months (with heavy exercise off limits) is going to drive me nuts. Anyone have any exercise (maybe upper body) routines/diet plans for someone used to running/walking/playing hockey etc that won't be able to for a while?

There are lots of P90X routines that don't strain your ankles.

It all depends on what kind of equipment you have. Just doing dumbbell routines will somewhat keep your tone and burn fat

Pet peeve:

"'Merica"

Or MURICA!

It's "America" and you can't arbitrarily drop the first letter.

'MURICA and America mean two very different things.

'Merica is just a sign somebodies on the outside looking in but hasn't realized it yet.
