Good 1st day. Hit the beach and there were beautiful women everywhere. My friend and his wife had invited a bunch of ladies over to meet me so was the center of attention. Will be heading out in a bit for dinner / drinks then dancing etc with a few of them in a little bit. Sporting the stereotypical Texan formal look; jeans, boots, white shirt with collar unbuttoned and sport coat.

We often shop at Tops over Wegmans. Our tops on transit/north french is pretty nice and MUCH less busy than the transit Wegmans. That means a lot for a family just trying to get in and out.

T-minus 2 hours until my son tests for his first degree black belt. I think I'm just as nervous as he is.

I mean it's the same street in the sense that it just...goes. I only found out it was Losson in the year and a half I've been here about a week ago.

Afino: Where did you reside less than 5 minutes from it? William or Losson side?

Worked there during high school. "Pretty nice" maybe, but it's still Tops. Still sucks ass.

Losson side. Off French.

I remember the days where there were TWO Tops on French before the one at the end of French on Transit.

Yup. My mom always shopped at Tops when I was growing up, so when I moved out I just shopped there out of habit. I didn't go to Wegmans until probably 4-5 years after I was living on my own. It's not even close as to how much better Wegmans is over Tops. Bells/Jubilee < Tops < Wegmans.

Out of curiosity, what does better mean?

If it means cost, I totally get it. I would want to shop at the most cost effective location.

Cleanliness?

Variety?

I totally get the overall claim of Wegmans>Tops, but because our Tops is decent, closer and never so packed that I have to deal with playing cart games to get around people, that makes Tops "better" to me. Of course, the term better is very subjective and that is based of what is important to me.

Price, selection, variety, quality of produce (I can't make any comments on meat), better treated employees (who happen to be friendlier), not playing Christmas music until July (yes, when I was working at *your* Tops this actually happened), better service (i.e. opening extra checkout lanes when there is a need)...

Selection and variety mainly. I buy some "abnormal" foods sometimes, and Tops never carried them. You go to Wegmans and they'll have like 3 different types to choose from. I remember when I started eating flax seed bread I thought it was rare because Tops just never had it. Then you go over to Wegmans and they have like an entire section of it.

Where is a good place in WNY to look at puppies? Considering getting a dog but it has to be very young, my roommate has a larger 3 year old and I'm worried about them not getting along with an older one.

My son is officially a first degree black belt. I'm insanely proud of him and how much he and grown since starting this journey and the young man he is becoming.
