Good to see that February is finally free from the EHT. Always hated the league taking a break with about eight regular season games left.

There's this thing called the Olympics held then. I hear this has been the case for every 4 years.

Six SHL games left after the break then. Even worse than usual.

Being played just around the time where there's no other hockey makes it that much more interesting. I just hope we can bring a team that's remotely interesting, too. Which I doubt.

It will indeed be interesting to see if any of the teams ice NHL players. In theory they could. I don't believe Finland will, but this is only a guess, not a fact.

NHL teams wouldn't let their players play at this thing.

why not?

at the last stage of the eht, the czechs and russians always had some nhl players in their rosters, the czechs f. e. pavelec/plekanec. the russians f.e. Yemelin, Kulyomin

i think we will see some of these nhl youngsters in the russian team:
voynov, bobrovsky, tarasenko or yakupov.

it will be very sad when not...

The NHL season is over when that last tournament is played. Back when the Ceska Poijstovna Cup was played in August/September, NHLers never took part.

NHL players aren't even on the ice yet at this time of the year, they're still doing their off-ice stuff or still on vacation.

NHL players aren't even skating in the Olympic orientation camps in late August for Insurance purposes.

Toni Koivisto? Seriously? Jyri Marttinen? And if we're taking someone like Mankinen, why not Miro Aaltonen while we're at it? Otherwise this is a pretty standard EHT crew, with certain players looking to give additional showings for Sochi.
