Offer sheet Paajarvi

Paajarvi is still an unsigned RFA. As is Pietrangelo. Would anyone give Paajarvi a decent offer sheet? If you offer sheeted Alex St Louis would match it. But maybe if you give Paajarvi a decent enough offer it might take away a little too much of their flexibility with Pietrangelo to match it.

I fully expect St Louis to lock up Pietrangelo then extend Paajarvi afterwards but would be interested to hear if anyone else would consider doing something along these lines?

I honestly don't see many teams having the money to offer sheet him. It would have to be in the 2.5 plus million range IMO. He really hasn't earned it I think someone might regret it.

The Blues have 9.4 million in cap space (Cap geek has them at 22 players now so 1 player will be waived when both are signed). If Piets signs a Doughty like contract (7 million a year) you would have to offer PRV at least 2.5 probably closer to 3 million before the Blues would even think about not matching

Magnus Paajarvi hasn't proven anything to warrant an offer sheet.

Is this about getting Paajarvi or about trying to find a way to get Pietrangelo?

I'd be fairly surprised if a team tried to OS Paajarvi.

PRV isn't worth an offer sheet.

a team could offer sheet him for something up to 43.3M per and its only a 2nd round pick as compensation.

If Pietrangleo signs for $8M then they cant match something around $2M

Either did Kesler when Clarke offered sheeted him . And why are Oiler fans slagging him now . PRV will be a valuable player for many years, he showed last season how he was starting to get it.

I dont think anyone will. The blues wont let maggie go because they obviously saw something in him to trade an important piece of their top six. He will be a great fit in their system and I really hope he flourishes.

Most Oiler fans loved PRV , there maybe 1 or 2 oddballs that don't . They are the same people that will scream that we are not a balance team but in the same breath want to trade away a good 3rd line 2 way winger with room to grow . I wish we could have kept PRV . I think he is going to be a very good player for many years for the Blues .

We just traded for him, we'd match anything reasonable...

I was just thinking that! Maybe we could offer a prospect for a 2nd rounder and then try to get Magnus back! He's perfect for the 3rd line!

We're not trading Paajarvi for Perron (basically) then trading a prospect and another pick for Paajarvi STL wouldn't even bother listening to us... And oilers couldn't offer sheer Paajarvi because we would need our 2nd round pick for compensation. And that now belongs to the Blues. Unless we offered say Marincin plus 2014 first? I don't see us getting Paajarvi back unles he suddenly decides he would rather bolt to KHL/SEL than play for a different team.

There are only about 10 teams that have enough cap space to even entertain an offersheet to Petro, and some of those teams still have their own RFAs to worry about.
